1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Well lads, after seeing the post by our new member here i got his email so we can chat a little about the mods that he mentioned.
Long story short i got the silent breech but in aluminium and the heavier hammer which weighs 70 grams , so i am able to fill my tank to 220 bar and still been able to shot.
This is what is on the way to me as from yesterday and after that i might be sending my tank to him so it will get installed with a regulator. He never did a sub 12ft/lbs regulator so he really couldn’t tell me the amount of shots that i will be getting with my 1.77 stealth, but he suspects it will be around the 350-400 mark.

Can’t wait to get my hands on this

Does the hammer slide on it's entire surface, would it not be better if the ends were raised slightly to reduce drag.

Sorry Andy, maybe next time i will read what you are asking before i answer:D

I have a new gunpower and the new gunpowers the hammer runs on the inner tube. I was told that this hammer runs on the barrel, so there is a lot less friction, so better consistency......we shall see but it makes sences

They look great. We have a couple of guys here in the states also making them and they work well. As for the regulator rumor has it a fellow in Finland who developed a regulator for the gunpower tanks has sold the rights and a company will be making them soon. We shall see.

Nice looking brech, hammer is odd. As far as where it rides its abit of both. That is, it rides on the barrel and the inner frame. How much of either would depend on the diameter of the hammer. You can gain around 15fps by polishing the inside of the frame where the hammer rides. I used flitz metal polish, a piece of t-shirt wrapped on a long drill bit and a drill. Of course barrel and other odds and ends were removed. After the tee is wrapped on the bit or rod (could be used) chucked in a drill. I added the polish to the tee. Using a variable speed drill i started slow and spun the tee into the frame. Once in, i increased the speed a bit, sliding in and out:handjob: till the polish was dried in the frame. The friction helps heat things up a little and dries fast. It doesn't hurt to shine up the hammer where it makes contact in the frame, in your case that would be the whole hammer. Most aftrmarket hammers have guides which are delrin so polishing is relatively quick. In that hammers case it would be the whole hammer i'd polish and maybe add some graphite powder. A good dry lube will work well with the dry polish on the inside of the frame.

I have already installed the parts and the cocking now seems more easy and flow free, if you know what i mean. It also increased my power a little so i had to turn the power down as it was over 12ft/lbs .
The hammer is hollow and the plastic bits are only at the ends. I run my hammer dry on a polished barrel and the increase of power means that the mods did work as my consistency is a little better as well.
The breech also is amazingly quiet. now and i am very happy with the end results.

    thanks for the heads up

The way he recessed the hammer to allow the hammer to hit inside the breech instead of on the outside would make it quieter.

It is the internal moving parts of the breech that makes the breech quieter mate, it is a totally different design . It has nothing to do with the hammer.

Thanks a1guuner for the thumbs up

Most are of the thought that its a combination of brech and tank ping that is heard when the hammer hits brech and brech opens valve. For myself, i have had others shoot my gun while i stand to the side and the noise is a bit of a illusion because your ear is right there. If your rig is shrouded or has a can that is when you notice this noise the most. Its not bothersome to me so i have done little to experiment in this area. Other then listen closely when fireing at times. If you say its quieter then it is, looking at the design i don't understand how, unless the white plastic is softer then delrin. Thus absorbing some of the smack. I have a custom hammer and ali brech and noticed no apreciatable noise reduction. What internal moving parts does the brech have? Orings? My ali one has 4, two on each end, other then that i can thing of no moving parts within the brech.

I do not know about the tank noise, i do not seem to have any now or before.

The breech it is not like the original and has moving parts. Th o-rings in it are the once i had in my original breech.

If you want more info i can give you the contact info of the person i got it from.

All the Stealth and Airforce guns have tank noise. It is the nature of the beast. In some PCP's a depinger is put into the air chamber to decrease the "Ping". The ping is caused by air bouncing back and fourth in the airchamber. In the stealth bottle no one has figured how to put a depinger in the tank yet to get rid of the "Ping". Of course if you are shooting at 15ftlbs the sound is drastically less then if the gun is shooting at 30ftlbs.
