1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  6. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I've just uploaded MERO V1.3.0 to my web space *** here ***
As usual, there are implementations for macOS, Windoze (32 & 64bit) and Linux (64bit only)
V1.3.0 has been tidied up a little and has two new reticles added:
    Optisan Half Mil-dot (thanks @Robbi)
    ScopeLabel1.png
    ... and ...
    ScopeLabel2.png
    Vector Tourex FFP (thanks @Guns-n-Guitars)

Note that, with the Windoze version, I've had to revert to the older widget style since Windoze 11 totally screws up the look and feel. The functionality remains unchanged though.
Microsoft, eh? I'm sure they'll get it right eventually.

No worries chaps, thanks for your support (I will wear it always :))
On the Windoze 11 thing; I've just noticed that the tooltips don't work any more either ... still working on Windoze 10 though.
Ah, that's right. That's why I'm an Apple fanboy!

As before, if you need/want/desire a non-generic reticle to be included, now would be a good time to mention it (while I'm still in the mood). o_O

Nah, that's just a generic extended mil-dot reticle in a fancy dress ...
Reticles don't come more generic than that. :)
    The generic version:

    ScopeLabel1.png

Again, pretty generic ... yer basic MoA reticle with twiddly bits of doubtful utility.
    The generic version:

    ScopeLabel2.png

I suppose that I was asking about the various BDC reticles that are, by their very nature, non-generic.
Things like this Viper BDC that folks may have bought on a whim, or because it was cheap or because they thought it was something else and have no means of properly calibrating for airgun trajectories ...

Well George, I've just installed it which was easy and took seconds. It sees my old files and I only had to re-select the SCB2 reticule probably because the order has been changed when you've added more. It has a few extra features over the version I was running previously, LOD and penetration are two I've noticed but it's the same solid program I've found to be accurate and intuitive in the past.

By the way, it's running on Ubuntu 21.10.

Cheers, a big thumbs up from me

Cheers Joe. The LoD is relatively new (you can turn it off if you want) but penetration plot's been there for a while in the 'Esoteric Plots' section. The new stuff - apart from the two new reticles - is mostly to do with the interior ballistics aspect that has caught my interest lately. That's what the 'Barrel Length' item is for and the - sometimes surprising - numbers are listed in the Summary page. It's also tidied up and speeded up too thanks to some pruning and internal rearrangement and tweaking of the working parts.
I compile the Linux implementation in a Ubuntu 20.04 VM although it also gets tested on Ubuntu 21.04 and 21.10 and Zorin 16. It's just Windoze 11 that's giving me grief at the moment.

Soooooo much nicer on a Mac ... but then, isn't everything? :)

On second thoughts ... oh, go on then ...
    ScopeLabel1.png ScopeLabel2.png ScopeLabel3.png

Download the image CustomReticle_1.png from *** here ***
and the spec file CustomReticle_1.txt from *** here ***

Navigate to ~/ProgramData/MERO/Config/ and overwrite the existing files.
The reticle can then be selected as Custom Reticle #1 in the Custom Reticles section of the Reticles menu.
I'll very likely add this to the main reticles menu on the next update.

There are several ways but, probably easiest ....
On your MacBook, open Finder, select 'Go' from the menubar, select 'Go to Folder ...' and enter
    ~/ProgramData/MERO/Config/ into the textbox.

V1.1.7 is the latest/current version. Does it need an update? Have you found an 'undocumented feature' (bug)?

Oh, right. As you know, the Android version just has default generic reticles. I'll have a look and see if those can be supplemented with the extended versions - the Mil-dot and MoA reticles anyway. That'll give access to the Optisan, Hawke AMX, etc. Mil-dot configurations as well as those of the EBR-2C, March FML-1 and Vector Tourex MoA types albeit devoid of their fancy twiddly bits.
