90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

Had an early morning wander around some paddocks and on my way back to the car i came across this fella seemingly taking a nap..
I walked towards him expecting flight with every step... Got to within 5 feet and he just stayed put. It didnt feel right shooting him from such close range so i just walked past him as he coo’ed!!
Do you think he mightve been sick??

Quite likely sick - a healthy wild woodie would never let you get that close...

There are quite a few around my place who will allow both me and the dog to get within a few feet. Most of them though, will fly off if they see movement through the window.

The brazen ones are probably teenagers - cocky little buggers who think they know it all and that nothing can hurt them. ;)

I don't want any of you fellow pigeon exterminators to suffer any pangs of guilt and stop shooting the little bar stewards, but I've seen them become very lethargic and mope about when their spouses 'disappear` shall we say.

It looks like a young one, probably this seasons, the cere doesn't look very well developed and is still that pinky/skin colour.

Does look a bit knackered though.

I've noticed that wood pigeons are very common on the streets lately along with the ferals, milling about eating bubblegum and sick along with their disease ridden cousins.

I live just out of Nottingham City Centre and we get loads of woodies in our gardens raiding bird tables. Magpies and crows as well. Looks like the countryside is moving into the city as even the birds have changed over the years. When I was a kid we had loads of sparrows in the garden now it’s goldfinches

Yeah my brother has quite a well rounded large natural garden, he puts bird and bat boxes, feeders and has planted a forest of wild plants and bushes. I've never seen so many finches nesting in the bushes, some right by the conservatory, it's lovely to sit and watch the cheeky and noisy things.

I get just magpies and wood pigeons crapping on me, there's no flora or fauna in my yard, I haven't got the time or energy to maintain it sadly.
