    Hi All

I am considering trying JSB Exact pellets in my Air Arms S510 / .22 calibre as I have heard good reports regarding consistency, accuracy etc.

Just wondered if I should go for 5.51 or 5.52mm?

As I have been using H&N Field Target Trophy and Webley Accupels with good results maybe I should stick with what works? But I am always looking for improvement. Best price I have found is £9.50 + £2.87 postage.

    Any advice would be welcome...

    Thanks

They are great pellets, always used jsb pellets in my gunpower sss and they group well in that, I use 5.52, but thats just my gun might not be the same for yours, but yeah cant speak highly enough of jsb exacts and jsb pellets as a whole.

JSB make AA Field from the same dies in the same Czech factory as they make other pellets that then are re-labelled for other people.

Rumour has it the JSB's are first from the die then the rest come after ;)

In short - JSB Exact are cracking pellets.

I use aa fields in my R10 , I had the same problem when choosing which head size to use, the bloke in the gunshop told me most people can't even tell the difference when using either 5.51 or 5.52, I just picked the 5.51s at random and have never had to try the 5.52s because the others are perfect , Sam

Bit of a different subject but anybody noticed that eun jin pellets are insanely tight in the barrel, I have never actually shot one through my guns because they are so snug, thus having 2 tins of the things as paper weights :)

Bought a load of Diablos recently to try and compared them to the JSB Exact.

The skirts on the diablos were much weaker and easier to deform than the JSB, even though they look similar.

hi mate, we have 2 x s400's and a 400 mpr ( all in .177 tho ), and we use the larger jsb exacts ( 4.52mm ). we tried the 4.51. but felt that the slightly tighter fit was better.
we also use the rws superdomes - v v good.

This very true but the two pellets perform in entirely different ways in my S410, my BSA loves the JSB's but the AA loves the Diablo's, the S410 will not put a consistent decent group together with the JSB's - don't know why

Get some samples of each and give em both a go, you may find that your rifle prefers something else

Nah - my Exacts are .20 and the 95 loves them to bits: tried her with Bisley's but the groupings weren't as tight as the JSB's; I hear H&N FTT in .20 are quite good but I have 2,000+ Exacts so not in any hurry to put new lead in the rifling when these are bringing home the woodies so well.

JSB Exacts/Air Arms have the best reputation as a safe bet in most guns both Springer and PCP. Worth also trying Falcon Accuracy which are made by JSB but almost 3 grain lighter than the exact in 22,and so you get a flatter trajectory, I use these in my PCP and Springer and they are cracking.

Yep my 97 loves jsb's in 4.52. When I first brought her I tried alot of different pellets. Superdomes, superfields in 4.51 & 4.52, AA fields, accupells, daystate ft's. But the jsb's came out on top. Great pellet. Its defiantly worth experimenting with as many pellets as you can get hold of.

Then stick with the ones that work best through Hell & high water :D

Mike, what springer in .22 are you chucking the Falcon's through?

95k the falcons mate, getting performance very very similar to .20 performance (also have a venom .20 HW95k). Infact I would go as far to say that if it were not for H&N FTT .20 pellet the Falcon Accuracy 22 pellet makes .20 redundant at sub 12 ft/lbs (assuming your gun likes Falcons).

    Bold statement?

Hmmm.... might give them a lash through the 80 I've just acquired. I don't want to be in the "Screw you .22!" mindset again and feel forced into selling this baby on because of my inability to get used to loopy trajectories in sub-FAC; I'm also considering a meatier pellet in .177 for the Prosport so I'm doing a bit of research into what heavier types the Prosport likes in .177.

Essentially, I wish they could both be .20 like my 95k and I'd rattle the Exacts out and not have to worry about chopping & changing to find the right pellet but, hey! This is airgunning - if I wanted an easy time of it I'd flog them all and stick to 12 bore :D
