90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Hi FolksBeen working on a Sussex Armoury Jackal, stripped and painted new seals and spring, just a tidy up really.
I bought an A/Arms Jackal as I needed a couple of parts, and have to admit the A/Arms is the better quality made weapon especially the trigger mech, the other guns mech is really fiddly and not nice at all.
Im after a couple of parts for the A/Arms, a trigger as the plastic has snapped, which I think was the reason for sale. I need the small cocking lever, the one that slots into the piston.

Any help with the parts would be great as I can get both rifles on the road, the idea is to sell one and do a tactical type project with the other.will put some pic's up when I remember the bloody camera!!!

    cheers, chris

If you have no luck getting any spares off a member, try ordering the parts from Chambers though they may not be cheap.atb

Hi Caddyman, it's not my intention to load you down with these weapons but I have an Air Arms "Jackal" 99.9 per cent complete ( the small plunger above the trigger is missing ) and there is a cocking lever / safety lever fault on it ( when cocked it will not fire ??? ) . If you want it p.m me ( it's free )

Sussex Armoury & Air Arms used the same trigger in a number of different models, the Khamsin & a wood stock version of the Jackal for sure, it might give you a few more options in your search?

Couple of pic's of a couple of Jackals![IMG][IMG]this is the air arms action that I stripped and re blued, I used a palm sander to do the heavy work and finished off with wet and dry paper upto 1200 grit, then polished it on the buffer at work, not a complete mirror finish but I was happy with the result.[IMG]the pic doesn't show it very well but it came out nice, put some gun oil over the top and it looks good as new.just need a couple of parts to get the bottom one shooting, then I will be doing my Vulcan resto!!!chris

Hi, yes there cracking old rifles these, I find mine are quite accurate at 25metres, getting good groups.

Ive just put up my Sussex Armoury Jackal for sale as ive settled on the A/Arms Jackal as the keeper, so I have got an L1A1 SLR green sling, need to make some loops for it, and im going to fit a bipod and bigger scope in the near future( hopefully if the other sells:))

will post some pic's when the work is done

I had one of these new in the Eighties, an A.A. Firepower. It looked like this but had open sights and a tube magazine over the barrel, which was suprisingly reliable. Operated by a cam on the back of the tap. As it was a sidelever, it was the first air rifle I had that could be reloaded without de-shouldering the rifle. It was my bunny hunter for a number of years, as it was fast, powerful and could be dragged through a hedge without worrying about scratching the stock. There was also a slide on the base of the dummy mag -intended to dispense pellets I think....
The only gripe I had with it was the rear sight - a plastic apeture job - always looked a bit too big to me ,- and the circle looked "hairy"

Sniper11, try" Relics.org.uk ", for the parts your looking for, he sells most of the stuff for Jackals on ebay, good service, I think he has the mags.

Zippy, I could only dream of owning one back in the eighties as I was but a boy!!, used to drool over them in the gunmart, or Exchange and Mart as I think it was back then, good days.............:):)

    Hi

Sorry ive not got any spares left over, what parts do you need?

There are a couple of places online, which are mentioned earlier in this thread.

one thing about the Jackal is the parts do sell well, if yours needs more than its worth etc... then a profit could be made.
