1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Now all previous quality issues aside and other minor things that can be improved on, the FX Crown Continuum for me ticks every box that needs to be ticked, some may find these points irrelevant in their personal choice of gun but here you go!

    1) Is it exciting to look at? YES
    2) Does it have a comfortable and adjustable stock that works well from the bench? YES
    3) Is the stock availible in a wide range of nice laminate colours? YES
    4) Is the action sidelever? YES
    5) Does it come in all calibers? YES
    6) Are the calibers interchangeable? YES
    7) Does it utilise a 480cc (or larger) carbon bottle? YES
    8) Is it adjustable for power etc.? YES (of course less important in sub 12)
    9) Is it easy to work on? YES
    10) Is it accurate if set up properly? YES (a foregone really)
    11) Spares easily availible? YES
    12) Does it fit in a small case? (that doesn't really look like a gun case) YES
    13) The above without removing the barrel? YES
    14) Barrel removal/caliber change without removing the scope? YES
    15) Fitted case that holds spare barrels, pellets. moderator etc. etc.? YES
    16) Does the magazine work well? YES
    17) Can it be used without a magazine? YES
    18) Everytime I pick it up does it excite me? YES
    19) Picatinny rail? YES
    20) Reasonable shot count? YES

Well there you go, feel free to input at your leisure, or not! upto you!

Not for me, I've had 3 FXs in total and none of them floated my boat, but I'm not bitter and if it does it for you then get one, I'm sure they are great guns :thumb:

    One? I have 5 LOL!

To be fair it will never topple the Redwolf in Midnight Blue aesthetically but it's pretty close! having shortened a few Redwolfs now to fit in the IMPACT length NEGRINI case they work really well but it's not a "system" approach like the FX.

I am not sure if it's just paranoia but I dont enjoy going out of the house to the car with something that looks like a gun case plus they are so unwieldy!

Ok mate, fair point but the AA is most importantly very boring to look at, cylinder not bottle, etc. etc. etc. perhaps copy and paste my list and check off yes or no with the 410 (and honestly with some of the points LOL).

Yes now that is a VERY good point! I am using the FX no limits raised up, however with 34mm scopes I haven't found any that clear the mag, even the Nightforce ULTRA High dont make it, hopefully with the release of the ELEMENT optics with 34mm FX will make 34mm no limits rings in the near future.

Funny thing is my .30 Crown seems to shoot better WITH the mag, very strange!

I've tried my impact without the mag loading single pellets, no different to the magazine fed pellets unless you feel one that hasn't loaded right, but then I just fire them ones off into the ground.
The crown just looks like a sporter with a bottle on the front. No different to the rapids of twenty years ago apart from coloured laminates.
The barrel swap is great and the power adjustable from outside the gun.
I prefer the impact or dreamtac compact, just my preference in looks.

I always fancied a crown in the blue or grey lam but the issues put me off, seems pot luck if you get a good accurate one, or maybe I am just reading to many problems with them. all the adjustability just seems wasted sub 12fpe but if you get a good one, they seem very good.
will stick with my daystates the redwolf is a cracking rifle. I don't use a mag in any of them. rowan single shot loaders work supreme.

That does look tasty that blue lam one, hhhmmmmm lol I should never have looked

Agreed, a good way to put it "modern Rapid" exactly what a RAW is then yes!

IMPACT/DREAMTAC, yes I have both, but I would hazard a guess VERY VERY few will say that hand on heart an AR or in line stock design could EVER be as comfortable as a well shaped sporter stock, they are designed for urban combat, not shooting from a bench and I have been shooting them for 20 years in every guise, the PRS GII is about as close as it gets.

I don't think you will find those issues generally now TBH, the blue is discontinued but there are still a few floating around, the gloss lacquer on the Redwolf stock is what I like, shame FX don't do the same or I would have kept my blue one.

I guess the problem would be if you don't know if the stock is old your buying, I understand there is another new barrel now, super twist or something like that. I would have to know I was buying a new stock rifle and not one sat on the shelf for 6 months. the black pepper stock looks nice too.
dam them crowns about 3 times I nearly pulled the trigger on one, but talked myself out of it, but its getting harder to do, especially in lock down.
