I have used Gunplan, no issues at all (never claimed ) £20 PA
when the licensing thing reared its head a year or so ago i went with BASC, for no other reason than their proactive on our behalf £54 PA Air Gun member, i have since gone to full membership since getting .22 LR.

As i now have FAC the licensing issue ( sub 12 ) for me is no longer relevant, but my membership contribution helps other`s fight it

Why's that mate? I've never claimed so don't know what their customer service is like I just think it's worth 20 squid to have the insurance certificate for applying for permissions or if you get stopped by the Rozzers etc.

    I use BASC.
As above this does not insure my guns.

It insures me against 3rd party damage when shooting.
I shoot for pest control (unpaid) and it offers landowners some assurance that any damage to their property or person is insured against.

Don’t get me wrong... I’ve never claimed.

I’ll explain why I went with BASA to start with.. I joined a shooting range and they required shooters insurance, so being a tight ass I went for the cheapest available to jump through the hoop.

I realised during my BASA membership that they do nothing really for the sport, not fighting for us and are mute at the political level. Land owners don’t know who BASA are either, and if you flash your card they will not recognise you as insured.

Lastly... they were meant to renew my membership automatically via direct debit. It was me that found that they hadn’t taken the money and I went an entire month uninsured... I wasn’t impressed.

BASC do everything I want from a provider, and represent us at a very difficult and political time for us air gunners so I’m only to happy to plough my money into them now.

It’s a learning curve and when I took out the BASA insurance I never really knew who did what, but now I do it’s BASC all the way.

That’s fair enough matey. At the end of the day we can’t all afford BASC which is why BASA is an option.

    Maybe at renewal time.

I went over to the BASC stand at a country show a couple of years ago but the dude was a Tweed clad tosspot who showed zero interest in me when I mentioned air rifles. I'm sure he was trying to work out how 'one would fit the cartridges into such a contraption'.

I realise one n0bhead isn't representative of an entire organisation so I may consider them again at renewal time.

BASC for me - thankfully never had to call upon their services but they’re very good from what we hear.

Funnily enough i went to their stand at the Birmingham show last year and wasn’t overly impressed with the response I got from a very similar bloke.
