1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Looks like an early HW90 - I think Theoben & Weihrauch put both their names on the action in the early days of its release. Might have a bit of extra value because of that but otherwise it's an HW90 with 2 sets of parents.

It looks very tidy Grumps, almost like its hardly been used,

I'd put it across a chrono first, before thinking of parting with any cash.

Well the Guy who owns it has hardly touched it he is a car guy . Proper one builds and restores for a hobby and investments . He got this it seems because as a young fella he couldnt afford a rapid . Like many of us who wish we where still waiting to turn 40  Then got a driving license and forgot about airguns like many of us blah blah  none of the screws seem to have been touched and there is a valve asembly on the breech that explains the Theoben lump of a trigger guard /safety assembly around the Rekord trigger . it shoots like silk  i been surprised by the valuations  even at auction price . i would have thought £250 would be more than fair , and im the one looking at buying it

The HW 90 isn't worth as much as the proper gas ram from theoben themselves.......I would offer him £150 and see how he reacts. Or save and get a proper Fenman with a short barrel....I did this with my taunus this morning, haven't picked it up for months. Straight away this 10 shot group at 30 yards, 6x scope. Not off a rest as such, just elbows on the wheelie bin, as usual. And to think I nearly succombed to parting with it for mere money! :D

There's no Rekord trigger unit in there Grumps, it's a totally different mech, this one was designed to suit the USA market safety wise.

Don't be to quick to jump in at a high price, if it passes a chrono check, you could always ask what he wants for it first.

    Is it a .177 ?

I have an original Theoben pump in its box here - with the original instructions in it too! I might just stick it up for sale as I have another one to use.

Theoben usually used Anschutz barrels in the early days, they used some BSA barrels too.

Need to be setting an alarm on the day you do then something to pump the theoben up, the guy i got mine from said he thought the power was down but it shoots fine to me but not chronod yet so.....ill be looking to get the HW90 ram adaptor suppose best fittings for 1 of those eh. Just in case either of the 90 s goes ewwwwhhh! Along with that Evolution and a crossman Benjamin trail. Sods law deems it will probably be needed ! One of the 90 s is a wee bit harder to cock but they both shoot like motherfakers ! And ones about 1 ½ inch longer. Strange

Er Grumps, no Rekord trigger on the 90, it is an Elite trigger specific only to the 90 I believe!

Safety idea down where it is, good idea, looks crappy, but works like a dream, for me wi a tad limited right hand,it gets my vote. Think it was all put together for differences with the gas ram, and possibly the Septics market too ? That reminds me need to find a hose/converter etc for mine ,just in case?.!

With a gas ram you cant use the Rekord trigger as this locks onto a rod attached on the center line of the piston. On a gas ram all this space is the gas ram so you have to lock onto the rim of the piston. The safety on the Rekord trigger is also in the area occupied by the gas ram so it also has to be moved below the ram. I have no complaints about the HW90 trigger and I find the safety easy to use once you get your head around it not being on the top back of the cylinder.
My HW90 says Theoben on the barrel block.

Protek has a Theoben on comission sale at nearly £600 so yes a HW90 is worth less than a Theoben but not a quarter of the price, plus you can still get spares for a HW90. I had to change the ram seals a few months back, easy job to do and not expensive. I bought a bike suspension pump off the bay for £20 and an adapter from a bike shop for £7. Not as easy to pump up as with the slim jim pump but it worked.
