1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I'd happily take my 410 apart IF I COULD !! Mr AA has decided I can't. (or so he thinks). Just because you don't like them is no reason for not giving the new user the chance to make up his or her own mind. That's just as bad as not telling them about springers if you do like PCP's. A newcomer should be given infomation about all types of gun, together with all their pro's and con's. I respect your choice as to the type of gun you choose to own and shoot, what I believe is wrong is that you seem to think everybody should have the same opinion.

I love spring guns but i use a pcp a lot when i first became disabled if it hadn't been for pcps i would have had to give up shooting the pcp allowed me to use a bipod and extend my range i would much rather use a .22 springer and stalk up close but my circumstances don't allow it anymore i've had to change to .177 and i've had to change to a pcp. I can see where your coming from clabby it annoys me when a newbie posts asking for recomendations for a gun with a budget of 100 quid and somebody will tell them to save up for a pcp and somebody will allways tell them to get an s410 but we have to accept the technology moves forward and tastes change most people these days own plasma or lcd tvs but they are no better than crt tvs it's just the way things progress stop thinking about it and just enjoy your guns

I'd rather use a springer but due to my body giving me tons of aggro I have found a pcp enables me to shoot with very little discomfort. I do agree though that pcps' are pushed a lot and if the truth were told I'd rather shoot the HW80 but can't.
The constant recharging of pcps' is a minor niggle but that's what they're all about. I don't think you can beat a springer for the fact you can just pick it up and shoot it all day long without the refilling be it air or co2.
Just hope clabby you don't end up physically ****** that the only way you really can enjoy the sport is by using a pcp/co2 rifle, that's life I guess.
Each type of gun has it's niggles but for me it's pcp all the way.
Long live my Ultra and I can't believe there's 3 of the b*****s for sale on the forum this week, b****r:eek:

am all fine with peoples opinion for a gun if they are asking for about a gun or what is good for the money. i wood still talk to some one if they bought a pcp i am not fussed about what people own or shoot or how they shoot. it just bugs me that people hardly say any thing good about a spring gun no more and pcps seem to be taking over i thing it was the review on the pheonix fast fire-10 that was in this months air gun world pcps have just got so hi tech and its rediculous

Thats just the way things go if you went back 10 or even 20 years most people would be talking about the hw80 the way they talk about the s410 today look on the bright side have you seen the prices of decent springers these days they are getting cheaper all the time because nobody wants them anymore and i'm happy with that because the chaeper they are the more can add to my collection

I hope im not touching nerves here but I see lots saying i can only shoot a PCP because im not physically fit enough to shoot spring guns

now im young and fit so am yet to experience "body agro" but with spring guns I assume its dificulty with actually loading the rifle?

becaue i doubt that the recoil would give your body agro:confused:
well unless your bones are like matchs sticks.

im still young so i dont really know how how effed up one can get:confused:
the think is the bolt on a PCP is lighter than a spring gun but i cant see someone finding dificulty loading a spring gun if they can still go out.

id say walking was harder than shooting spring guns but like before im no medial expert on body agro.

hope im not touching nerves here but i cant see the physical strain a springer puts on a guy
