1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Thanks Keithy, I'm pretty settled on the FSB KT now. You mentioned that the Hugget silencer isn't as quiet as the HW one, did you mean the Hugget in the FSB or on the standard barrel?

The hugget silencer is a custom silencer from Milbro sports it comes in two lengths if you look on my pic in my post it is the one in the top gun (with the slots in) this is the Beileta model and is the short version of the Hugget silencer. It looks alot better in real life than the HW FSB silencer fitted to the bottom gun however you will not beat a HW silencer on any gun for silence. The FSB does not come with a silencer as standard and relies on the shroud for suppresion it makes the gun queiter than a good springer and is good enough for most uses. I bought my FSB's because they will take a full length A & M cylinder and upped my shot count by 100 shots on my .177 to 175 shots. You can just buy a full length HW100 and fit a A & M cylinder to it but they still dont feel as good as a FSB to shoot. ( I used to have a full length version and have tried it with the A & M cylinder).:)

Very good, but the shroud should do a markedly better job than it does. I have an Evanix Rainstorm which has an effective shroud sliencer and a Super 10 mk 3 which has had the JB treatment and the shroud on that is noticeably better than the Daystate shroud!

Since the FSB suppresses the sound slightly as standard, would fitting the Weihrauch silencer to an FSB HW100 make it quieter than an un-FSB'd silenced HW100... If that makes sense...?

Hi Dave I am not so sure it does . I have an fsb carbine and also an add on fsb Weihrauch silencer . I have tried to compare it with a non fsb carbine at the club that is fitted with a weihrauch silencer and found it difficult to say. The only thing I am aware of is that my fsb seems to have air relief holes at the back of the shroud and I wonder if some noise comes out of here on firing , ie , close to my face and makes it more noticeable ?
Having said all that the rifle without silencer is as described above , similar to a quiet springer, but with extra silencer fitted, very quiet indeed .I find the carbine fsb well balanced and feels short , but with additional silencer it seems very long if I am in a hide ?

Its very close but not quite, my full length HW100 was unbelievably quiet I think some of the sound comes out of the holes in the shroud which is near to your ears. The sound from a FSB is also different tone to a standard Hw100. Any how either silenced gun is plenty quiet enough for hunting.

Picked up a HW100 T today from Solware. I decided against the FSB as the standard barrel was soooo quiet I could hardly believe it. Not had a chance to fire it yet hopefully get some time in the next couple of days :)

Thank you to you all for your input, most helpful.

    Cheers, Davy

I read somewhere that the FSB is more aimed at the American market due to them having issues with removable moderators on rifles, I don't seem to see any differences between any of the 100 versions apart from the FSB is slightly louder and to add a moderator to the FSB seems a bit pointless and you may as well go for the carbine version with mod as standard, would this be right?

I honestly doubt you'll be disappointed with your purchase Davy. Did you get a chance to put a few through it at Solware? If so then you'll know what a class piece of work that loading mechanism is. Flawless.

The loading mech alone would sell it for me, wouldn't care about the looks!

If I had the readies, a 100 I would have:)
