1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I’m going to treat myself this Christmas (I’ve been pretty good)!
and I sold my last shotgun

I’m want to buy a new Daystate Huntsman Regal HR in .177

My local shop are doing them for £899 and I’ve also seen Ronnie’s is doing a combo deal for £999 which includes:

    Hawke Double screw mounts
    Hawke Fast Mount 3 - 9 x 50 AO - MD
    Daystate Silencer
    Premium Black Padded Slip

Anyone know of a better deal before I spend a few hours trawling the interweb ?

    thanks

I would want to put nicer accessories with a gun like the Regal HR, so I'd shop around and see if you can get a better package deal even if it's for a similar price. Brierly guns in Birmingham are usually a good bet, give them a call and see what they can do, even if it's getting it sent to your RFD?

Deffo not the scope or mounts for it. High end hawkes are good. Fast mount are the bottom rung.

It’s such a personal thing scopes etc. I absolutely love my old hawke varmint 6-24x44sf. I’d buy more of them if I could get hold of them.

The regal is a wonderful gun, and deserves so much better than what comes with the combo.

Akin to buying a rolls royce and running it on chip cooking oil.

If you are going to the length you are in buying such a wonderful gun, I promise you it’s worth the extra money to dress it nicely.

    Enjoy

Buy a better scope and mounts or you will only end up replacing the poor ones in a few weeks and loosing the money on the originals.
Buy quality and buy once. You will only end up being disappointed by second best.
The regal is a great rifle and you will want to utilise a good scope.

    Totally agree.
Am I right to think that for a similar price it’s worth getting a Huggett over the daystate Mod?

I think 'the airgun center' would be worth a look...

They also do life time warrenty as long as you own it.

They do a better scope deal, and a hard case i believe.

I have 2 mates that brought from them and have had no issues from their warrenty, but i have read on here some negative feedback for them.

As always got to do your home work and do what you reacon is best.

    Worth a look though.

It deserves something better than a fast mount so the deal isn’t that good for me IMO

The Varmint is way better than the Fastmount.

I like the mid to higher end Hawke scopes as I think they are a good scope at a decent price. Yes, I have some of the fancier stuff too, but currently I've got 2 x Sidewinders, an Endurance and an Airmax all in 6-24x50/56 SF as well as others of different mags.

The only one currently I'm looking to part company with is the Airmax as I'm looking for a shorter scope with the same mag to put on one of my springers due to the loading location. I like this mag as I can use it for spinners but also the indoor range so I can see the pellet strikes which I just can't do with a lower mag scope, not past 30m anyway

As said... don’t insult the Regal with a fast mount.

it’s way up there in the best of the best rifles and needs a quality scope.

moderator... yes I’d go with huggett
I’ve compared daystate side by side with huggett and the huggett knocks spots off the DS mod.

HW mods are also excellent and cheaper... but don’t look anything like as good as a huggett

The belita is about the same DB as the airstream. If its sound moderation your after the full length huggett snipe is the way to go, but it makes a fairly longish rifle, not bad at all though.

The advantage of the huggett is if you get the shroud and mod combo, it centres the barrel into the mod and is no longer susceptible to nocks, pellet clipping and zero shift. The huggett shroud is also shorter than the standard.

    Heres mine IMG_20191122_133021.jpg

Get a Hugget Snipe - very nice although a bit pricey

There was a silencer test in one of the airgun mags recently, and the A&M ones did quite well in the test
