1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  6. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I know this has been covered I’ve read the previous posts but wondered if anyone has recently fitted a huma reg to their wildcat mk1?
I have fitted the reg and a power plenum .30xl I’ve got it shooting ok but it seems a bit harder to cock now it’s all back together I’m aware the hammer spring and reg pressure may need some fine adjustments the reg is currently set at 80 it’s shooting at 11.8 11.9 and it’s consistent but I’m worried it could creep up once it’s bedded in so do I turn the reg down or back off the hammer spring ?? I would prefer it to be around 11

Have you done a 5 bar step to determine the ideal operating pressure? If you do a 5 bar step and can get the output you want by hammer adjustment then try it. I always do the first 5 bar step run with the hammer backed off as much as possible because I think I remember reading less hammer spring = less bounce. I may be wrong of course,

Snce you stating sub 12 output I would expect the plenum to be to large. Plenums on guns designed for high power are normally to large for sub 12 use and yet the marketing is pushing larger plenums. You may find the output to be erratic.

The spread is very tight it was 12 to 18 fps difference over the 1st 48 shots and it’s now dropped to 7/9 over the last 24 and seems to be settling at that I was thinking I will back the reg off down to 70 and turn the hammer spring out 1/4 turn as the only issue I can notice is the cocking seems a bit stiff I also seem to have a slightly lower shot count it’s to dam cold and I can’t be bothered stripping it out again tonight so I might pull the plenum out and run the standard and give it a whirl tomorrow

What calibre is your rifle? My Mk2 .177 is set to just under 80 iirc. You need to test it across the off reg threshold to make sure there is no spike coming off, especially if you have increased the plenum size to 30cc with an oversize spacer.

Then full shot strings are the only way to check if you are tuned to the knee. Ideally you want a totally flat power curve from full pressure to reg pressure then no spike coming off reg just a gradual fall off in fps from that point. It took me bloody ages it's a laborious iterative process of test, dismantle, adjust, re-assemble, test, rinse and repeat.

Is a 30cc plenum not a bit pointless in sub 12? Personally I'd swap it for the standard Huma one (not the FX original as that will isolate the breather vent hole). You are giving away shot count with the big spacer and not really getting any benefit back imo.

I found this link interesting background reading when I did mine...

Good luck anyway they are great rifles. :D

It shouldn't be any harder to cock unless you've wound the hammer up.
    That's all you're cocking against.

Turns out the new mag from Eaglevision is the problem the holes for the pellets is ever so slightly to small it’s shaving the skirts of the pellet !! It’s fine with the other mags I’ve put another 40/50 more shots through and it seems to be a little on the edge of 12 I’m going to drop it to 60 and put the original plenum back in see what it’s like then it’s consistent on fps and it spikes a little to close to the limit for my liking as it drops off the reg

Same as what jiggy says. No issues with my .177 eagle vision mags.
Perhaps the anodising is a wee bit too thick.
    Contact them.
This is assuming you're not using el cheapo, gash pellets.

I’m confident they will replace it with a good 1

FINISHED !! and set at a smudge under 70psi removed the large plenum also as it was all over the place! after near on a tin of pellets later and a LOT of strip rebuild strip rebuild, fettle and adjust I’m finally getting a dam good shot count 130/140 then it’s dropping of the reg but it’s only creeping up ever so slightly max 11.89ft then it slowly drops off after a further 3/4 mags and down to 40 bar (never shot it totally empty) but on reg it’s consistent at 11.6 average difference is 1.3 over the full shot count on reg 802.6/801.8 seems to be its most common output so think I’ve got it right !

Just noticed I’m only filling it to 180bar my air cylinder needs filling it’s not got enough in to fill the gun to 230 so my shot count should be better with the extra 50bar I’m short at the moment
