1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

well, i'm sorry but after waiting 2 months and paying £100 more than a weihrauch i must say i am disappointed with the huggett std silencer and shroud. it is slightly quieter at 25m than the Weihrauch but only just. The set up is 6cm shorter on my airwolf and it looks better but IMHO not worth the extra outlay. if i was to buy another rifle i would have no hesitation fitting it with a weihrauch.

Interesting......with all the moderator threads it does seem the that HW consistently comes out on top (bar the hogan decimator)......

6 cm's is quite a bit though - and if its quieter then its a result.....but know what your saying re whether its worth the 100 more.

    thanks
    Tim

Not sounding too good, i have been looking at changing my Hogan for a full Huggett and was hoping the sound level would be the same, i love the Hogan and how quiet it is but really like the look of the full Huggett system, now reading this i am not so sure i would be doing the right thing.

I haven't heard any bad things about the Huggett shroud and mod but the amount of time ppl have to wait for it.
However I've decided I'm having a custom job made for my wolf.
By the sound of it a good choice

I was the same, i love the look of them but if they are not as quiet then i am having second thoughts.

For the outlay they don't represent good value at all. Bloke at the club had one on his FX and although it looked good it made no difference over any other mod. I was a bit dubious about modded shrouds but Darrin made one for his EV2 and I have to admit it was just as good as my HW or Decimeater when sat next to him.

Please do not misunderstand, the huggett IS slightly quieter but NOT £100 quieter. I have no experience of the Decimator (will go straight to youtube for a gander) and so the Hugget IS the best but Weihrauch is just so much better value for money http://youtu.be/QFKzUwr4m9Q

I have always looked on the Hugget silencer, and shroud as a piece of bling. It does look better than an hw on the end of an hw100 barrel, lets say you sell your hw mod ,and put the dosh towards your hugget/shroud combo, may not be a lot quieter, but it will look good, thats just how i see it...

I dont think its about them being any quieter its if you want it or not ....its like saying at the range a ds mk4is is only a little bit better or the same as an ultra at 35 yds so its not worth it lol of course its worth it if you want it ..

its simple there is 2 reasons to buy a hugget
    1: for looks
    2: aesthetic reasons

    otherwise buy a Hogan ;)

They should of made use of all that wasted volume inside the shroud and back vented it.

Size is important (ask my wife).
The Hogan looks a little on the large size. My A&M Marksman causes flare (from reflection of the IR) when i use my nitesite making the video image extremely poor. It also catches on branches when i carry my Airwolf over my shoulder.

Milbro are VERY slow. Nice products, but you shouldn't have expected major differences, volume is king and they just aren't big silencers. The finish, design and construction in general is what your paying for, not that expensive for the unique style IMO.
Had a shroud and belita on a verminator and that worked very well

I agree to a point Steve. The air is back vented to a few holes just forward of the breech, apart from that the whole shroud is just a tube! The addition of a simple set of baffles would surely have helped?

I have the full shroud/mod on my HW100KS and I don't find it any quieter than when it is deshrouded with only the HW mod fitted. Looks the nuts, but that's it really.

My old Airwolf had a baffled shroud and was pretty decent without an additional mod fitted. Add an airstream reflex to it and it was super quiet!

My view on the Hugget shroud/mod system is that it's over priced a tad and they've missed a trick perhaps by not looking into adding some sort of baffle to the shroud.

They do look great though, partly due to the fact that that barrel band has gone!:)

Anybody mucked about with the hugget internals, maybe adding and extra chamber??

on my homebrew shroud I have 2 x 2mm holes on the underside at the breach, inside that there is wool felt, it's stop the popping sound when fired.

    It works brilliantly:)
