    Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

    As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

    The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

    This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

    In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

    The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

    All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

    IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

    We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

how stupid are hospital staff?

    My other half works as a supervisor in bookings and referrals at the local hospital. She get infuriated at the way everything works (or doesn't) it's a combination of crap staff that you just can't sack and fragmented departments that seem to all work against each other and the final nail is IT systems that just don't work.
    The plus side to her working there is I have an open appointment with their best orthopedic surgeon for my back

    :rolleyes: Way I see it when I have had to go to the A&E in the Leicester LRI it all depends on how well they speak and understand English or how near they are to a 'break'!
    This particular NHS hospital to me is rapidly becoming the 'we spend loads of your money' for a No Hope Service............No wonder its at the bottom end of the UK (good) Hospital league table!!!!!!!

    This is a major issue across the entire NHS - England/Wales and the Scottish service.

    Dodgy IT specialists (salesmen :rolleyes:) come along and bamboozle tech-inept senior managers, they then sell the service the IT equivalent of magic beans that are woefully unfit for the purpose they were advertised. I'm involved in the training and roll-out of NHS24's replacement IT system and after using it in a non-live, closed environment we told senior management in no uncertain terms that their chosen child was a donkey and would put patient safety at risk. It's been shelved until it becomes workable but it's cost the taxpayer a sh1tload of money so far.

    That's the same with all Gov departments. None of the IT systems are fit for purpose, despite £millions having been spent on them initially and afterwards. Quite often the Government has to pay extra for fixes/upgrades because they didn't negotiate any in the initial contracts. It must be the case that this is done intentionally by some MP/s who have a vested interest in it because i can't see how or why it happens time and time again!

    I have had nothing but trouble with hospitals...
    I had a suspected broken ankle after coming off my downhill bike and went to A&E. I arrived expecting to be sat for at least 2 hours before i was seen, as this is always the case with A&E. 4 hours later im still sat there and at least 7 people who had arrived after me were seen. Fair enough people have specialist appointments etc and will be seen before me, but this wasn't the case.

    My fiancee went up to reception and asked how long until i will be seen, its had been 4 hours... apparently, my name had been taken off the system because a nurse had called me twice with no answer. The only name called twice was a random Jeffry Baxster!

    It turns out someone mixed our documents and put mine into the discharged/seen pile :mad: I was seen rather quickly after it had been sorted but thats only because of how long id been there.

    Thats just one of many stories i have of my experiences of how badly run the NHS is. I know that mistakes do happen but its seems it happens far too often within hospitals.
