1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    Hello all,
New Weihrauch HW95K owner signing up, this forum seems like it has a wealth of knowledge and a good point to get back into the sport - been out for about 10 years, life got in the way as it does! My last rifle was an original Webley Tomahawk .22, a big old loud beast compared to the 95!

Did some digging around and the 95K appeared to be a good quality break-barrel entry rifle to get back into things, so far I'm very impressed by it - well built and a nice\smooth to fire. Read a bit about the variable spring finishing, twanginess etc that some of them can have but I understand Weihrauch has improved them recently and mine seems to have a nice dull thud to the firing action, very consistent too - the test page supplied by The Airgun Centre who supplied the rifle has a 8-10fps variation over 10 shots.

Obviously it still needs running in a bit but so far so good after a week - I can set-up a 10-yard range at home and have got the Hawke Eclipse 3-12x50 zero'd and punching pellets through the same hole so it should be almost there; having found the Chairgun app mentioned in this forum I've calculated that the .22 RMS superdomes I'm using - recommended by Countryway who's the RFD that TAG sent the rifle to, handily very close to my workplace - it should also be about right for 30 yrds.

I need to get to a proper range to sort it out, I think SEAC will be nearest\easiest place for me so if anyone is a member of south east airgun club let me know!
Bought some other stuff whilst at Countryway such as a proper case, rests etc, seemed like a quality outfit.

I'll be using the 95 for about a 50/50 mix of target and field (once I get some new permissions sorted). Already signed up to BASC and have been researching proper shooting technique and the only way I managed to get the 10yrd accuracy above was to just rest the rifle in my hands and let it recoil\move about; an instant improvement from a half inch group when gripping it too firmly. That and the decent trigger means I'm already better than I was before.

Anyway here it is, only additions so far are a sling\mounts:

    Cheers,
    Rob

Hi Rob, and welcome to the forum.

The 95's a lovely rifle - it has everything you need and nothing you don't. It's accurate and reasonably non-fussy with regards to hold etc. Enjoy your membership of AGF.

    Cheers all, much appreciated!
Yeah stefan, Countryway was excellent to deal with, a total pleasure to talk to do business with them. TBH if I knew exactly what scope\mounts etc combo I was after and had already been there I'd probably of just bought directly from them, oh well they'll certainly see more of my cash I'm sure!

So I did a bit of a practise session today, looks like my scope eye relief is a bit off (craning head forward a bit) so will need to sort that out and re-zero, it's only about 8-10mm off, plenty of adjustment left. Gives me an opportunity to get the mounts spaced further apart for stability at same time.

Also found the other day that due to suffering stubby finger syndrome the reach to the trigger is a little far to be comfy, so have order a setback trigger from Rowan Eng. Seeing as the quality of the standard trigger guard lets the rifle down a bit I went for one of those as well, I did say to myself I'd not give in to the shiny-thing-purchase illness too soon but never mind, needs must.
Otherwise she's smoothing out a little with use so all good there.

Hopefully down to the local club in the next few weeks to see what's what.

BTW the Combro CB625 seems to be a fairly popular, common and reasonably cheap chrono, worth getting to keep an eye on performance\limit or are there better options lately?
