1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Below are the results that came with my 2nd hand HW100s , it's 2 year old and I bought it New Year Eve 2020 for £665, it's imaculate and personally I think it's bob on for what I do, that said I'm a red blooded man and I have to understand the details on a nerd basis, so I know 14 isn't 100 shots to go off but would you be happy buying this for that money with only those statistics to go by bearing in mind that it is A1 condition, no leaks, and hits the target at 40 yrds oh and I got a old but A1 Nikko Sterling 3.5-10 x 45 scope in the deal.
(I know very little regarding chronograph results so any information on this will be greatly appreciated) Cheers in advance

Your bang on in the zone, mines runs at similar power but deviates slightly as to be expected but not by much which keeps it in the safe zone, looks good .

I’d be happy with that. You could always buy a chrono and run a 14 shot test and compare results, they won’t be exactly the same but will be a good indicator. Make sure you use the exact same pellets:cool:

Based on the tiny sample, looks fine but that sample size is to small. Do a full shot sting from max fill to at least 10 shots off reg and lets have a look at that.

Can you put the results up as a comma separated values next time. Much easier to import to a spreadsheet for analysis.

Please be aware that what is printed on the pellet tin label is highly unlikely to be in the tin. Pellet weights vary, a lot.

Unless you weigh each pellet and sort them out it is highly unlikely you will improve on those results....

Going out tomorrow in woods (literally back garden, not bad for council flat) , modified a lightweight, telescopic, tripod camera stand so I am able to shoot stood up at a target to check the grouping with some JSB Diablo 15.84gr at 30 yrds and beyond.

No chronograph atm but I know it's legal and it's the groupings I'm interested tomorrow at least.

    Will update

Just checking is it a shared garden ? Do you have the freehold on the land ? Or permission to shoot there ? Not wanting to p*ss on your bonfire but just be sure you’re allowed to shoot on/in that space be a shame to come unstuck just when your starting enjoy your gun .

Crono results only prove its power is legal or not , accuracy is what's important try not to get hung up on crono testing , as loads of others on here will tell you sometimes the most consistent of pellets in your gun give the worst accuracy

I am going buying a pellets test pack on Friday so I will eventually be stocking up on the right pellets for the rifle,

Hopefully it's the RWS Super Field as they are only a £10:50 for 500 atm 9 in 5 plus bulk but I am going to buy a few others that are a little dearer depending on different results ie ft/bls / fps, damage, acurisy

I like the look of JSB HADES, AIR ARMS, & RWS HOLOW POINT & all come in the testing pack

I guessing that the Deviate is what the Dev in Std stands for and the Std being Standard.

    Cheers for feedback pal

i know some people who have messed there rifle up because of chrono reading when all that was wrong was there tin off pellets that had been rattling around in there gun bag for a couple of year and they finally got round to using them

Some of the land is private and the woman said down by the river against really high banking (strictly targets and plinking mind) she doesn't mind, I was down near there without permission when I first bought the Ratty 2250xl middle of last year (didn't know that I needed permission or it was prvate, she saw me whilst walking her dog and after we spoke and she explained the score and realized I was safety conscious, no wildlife and a decent polite lad and very appolagetic she said the area I goto now is fine,

gun shop I bought Ratty off never enlightened me (I should have researched 1st )but the one I stick with now told me the score when I bought HW100S and recommend local ranges/clubs.

Once I have a chronograph I will wash, weigh and LT1 lube and do a 200 to 90 bar full test and record and type up a full report using 10 different types of 20 each quality pellets using 4 to zero 7 at 30 yrds and 7 at 40 yrds for groupings, Really looking forward to this day and will be shooting indoor from a bench with a Deben 6x9 t&s bipod, the remaining 2 from each sample pack I will do some prone and standing shots, bit of less than serious fun to finish on

A lot of people are approaching gun performance wrong. Step one power check it. Step 2 start with known good pellet manufacturer jsb or AA diablo field. Step 3 fit scope and zero at 25 yds. Step 4 see what size groups you can get. Step 5 PUT PLENTY of shots thro it to run the gun and regulator in. step 6 is the accuracy improving? If the group varies alot verticaly. THEN start doing shot strings to access consistency.

Doing shot strings on a brand new rifle is a waste of time let the gun and regulator bed in first at least a full tin of 500 pellets. Accuracy is all that matters not what the chrono says.:)
