1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

After having my 55s for about 3 month now and running some tests on it,I can say it's one of the best spring rifles i have ever shot.

The whole setup cost me £135 (90 for the gun (new) and 45 for the scope/mounts (secondhand) ) and blows other guns away in it's price range.

The whole gun is great, the action is smooth and without jumps, the firing cycle is straight forward without harsh recoil and the stock is proper turkish walnut (Not cheap beech or even tactical stocks you see commonly on guns) aswell as this, the build quality is excellent, everything is done up tight and consistent, lubrication used where it is needed and the blueing is a very hard wearing finish that will not ruin easily (Unlike the very shiny bluing you get on AA's etc)

From stock, the gun comes with tru-glo iron sights which were happily accurate at 10 yard but any further and i found myself needing a scope which is why I fitted a cheap Hawke Sport HD 3-9 x 50 (Another great budget scope)

Target below is 15 yard,8 shots (JSB Exacts) Taken from a bench using a bipod!
    Target.jpg Target2.jpg

NOTE: The smaller cuts around the target are bits of pellet rebounding from the targets steel backstop, they are not pellet holes. All shots are inside the no.9 ring.

The groupings open up a bit at 25 yard and beyond but not anymore than a pellets length or so,still within acceptable hunting parameters.
I also have a Woodfield GCP tuning kit to fit when I find the time but so far, this gun does not need upgrading and is perfect from stock!

I've had the 55 and the 60. The 60 is nicer out of the box, as you might expect, but either are about the single best low-cost air rifle currently available in terms of the overall package they offer.

Good two stage trigger, auto-safety, excellent F/O open sights, massive FAC potential if that's what honks your hooter, easy to work on, easy to tune up, nice looking walnut stock, nothing else on the market matches the 55 or 60 for features in relation to price.

I really liked mine, once I'd fettled it.

I had an early (Nov 2008) MOD60S. It was a good solid gun, pre-quattro trigger but still a good gun. I fitted a Titan xs spring and it was producing 11.4fpe initially, reduced to 11.2fpe after a tin of pellets. Only sold it because I had too many guns...

Yep..no Weihrauchs come in this sub £100 price range..only thing I can think of is some of the lower end SMK setups but they don't come close in performance to the Hatsan

I've been wanting a springer for a while now and like the ideas of stripping and working on internals a bit and for that kind of money even if I make a complete hash of it it's not a fortune wasted . Well done for the write up too as we don't really hear much about these kind of rifles ( or hear anything constructive ) . Hopefully catch up with you at parc and have a look at it soon pal

I've got the 60s and I'm really happy with it. It feels and looks like a proper rifle and the walnut stock is absolutely stunning.

I have long said that the Hatsan 55 and 60 are great value, lovely shooting rifles. I have had 2 60S rifles and bought 1 more (bought for a friend who got ripped off when he bought a really screwed BSA Mercury off a so called friend). Never had a bad one, all have the beautiful walnut stock, all had great triggers, fired quietly, worked well and grouped great. I still have a Hatsan 60 S in my collection, only mine is the superbly shooting Edgar Brothers gas ram conversion!

Of course you do realise that this gun, in a slightly different stock, sells for twice the price, labelled as a Webley Stingray Mark 2?

i honestly cant see how they can build them for the money - out of the box, they can be a little raw (but no more than a rifle costing at least twice as much), but the potential is undeniable. i imagine that with a couple of hours tlc, and a little tweaking, you will have a rifle that looks and performs as good as any costing £200+.
for the money, every shooter should have one

Yep, my gun shop (Wiltshire Shooting Centre) is getting in a Mod 60s and a Mod 95 for me to look at but I've already told him I'll probably have both as they seem to be incredibly good value for money.I think their quality control and build quality improved when they tied up with Webley.Ithink some of Webley's old staff went out to Hatsan and advised them.I might be wrong though
