  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I've only handled one and it seemed fine to me but there are some members on here who do use them and seem very pleased.

I have owned an AT44 Tactical, albeit for only 5 weeks (I'll come to the reason for getting rid soon), this is my opinion of the gun....

Firstly, there is nothing wrong with the AT44 at all. It is a great PCP rifle and shoots as well as some rifles twice the price. With the AT44 you get a lot of gun for your money, it comes with no less than 3 ten shot mags as standard, adjustable butt stock (in and out), 3 picatinny accessory rails on the front of the forearm, sling loops, Hatsan sling and even a clip on bi-pod....all for around £350 brand new. What's not to love about this gun?

The side lever action cycles the mag very nicely and the gun is very accurate, even out to 70 yards it's possible to achieve consistent kill shots, but unless you are an exceptional shooter and have an upper body like Mr Schwarzenegger you'll need to rest it on a bean bag on a table because this is a big and fairly hefty bit of kit. You'll also need a moderator as it's quite loud.

As with every pneumatic rifle there is a power curve and a sweet spot, Mine had it's sweet spot at around 190bar, after that I got approximately 40 accurate, usable shots before the fall in pressure started to affect pellet drop. And once it starts, that power curve takes a definite dive. This in itself ain't a problem and all unregulated guns suffer to some degree like this.

The gun looks great, if you like the tactical military image. I bought the gun because it's great value for money and the engineering seems to be spot on, the thing I just couldn't get over though, was firstly the weight of the thing and more importantly the image of it.

Imagine being a landowner and a chap knocks at your door asking for permission to shoot on your land....would you want the said chap wondering around your land with what many members of the public would think is a full-on military assault weapon? ....even experienced airgunners might be alarmed at seeing a bloke wondering about his perm with the AT44 if they didn't know about them. Sure, there are more military looking guns (Bullpup springs instantly to mind), but for me, the AT44 is just too much and that is the only reason I got rid.

It's a great gun mate, and for the money, you'll struggle to find a finer weapon brand new. For me, it was just that military look that led me to look for something else after I'd lived with it for a few weeks. My personal opinion.

thanks for that fellas and to neil no im not built like arnie but I do certainly know what you mean having shot it the biggest thing that grabbed me was its accuracy out of the box and for the sort of shooting ill be doing I dont think the weight will be too much of an issue so many thanks. order placed

I have also just been looking at this rifle in tactical stock, it looks amazing to the eye! After reading lots of good reviews on it I decided to look them up on sites that sell them but in the spec info they all list as being above 12ft lb... Some as hot as 24ft lb!
If I was to purchase one is it a case of getting it reduced to 12ft lb or is there a place that sells them at a legal UK limit for none firearms licence user?

Now you have had you AT44 for a while now, how are you getting on with it, ie power and is it accurate, etc etc, is it .22 or .177, would you recommend it. Look forward to you reply. As I am still in two minds. Thank's, Atb Bob.

Hi Guys..I have a Hatsan AT44-10 in Tactical stock. Its a .22 Calibre. They have a Lothar walther Barrel which is pre-cut to accept a Silencer (1/2" UNF ) and to be Honest they could do with it. they aren't quiet but Not as loud as some I've heard. Out of the box some rifles are low on power but they usually settle in after a tin of pellets. If not take it back to the dealer and he will sort it. Sometimes there can be an accuracy problem which springs from the Magazines ( 2 come as standard ). They are cast alloy and the pellets are held snugly by an "O" ring. The magazines being cast have a few burrs on them but a bit of time with some rolled up wet n dry or gentle dremel work polishes these away and bob is once again you Dad's brother!. In .22 expect to get a good 70=80 shots per fill (use-able). Triggers on the Hatsans are the "Quattro" 2 stage and very adjustable. I like them a lot but not in the same class as an AA S400. The one I have isnt particularly fussy but it does seem to like logun/Range-right terminators(20.5gr).

Hope this Helps give some unbiased "real world" information which isnt always in the brochures.

    Rgds

    Dave
