1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I read lots and lots of threads about pushing the limit on 12flbs the latest about bis heavies pushing it over, and everyone chirps up with how naughty it is which is fair enough, but I was just curious to if anyone on here has ever been tested, and could share their experience? was it easy and fast, on the spot or long tedious nightmare?
Looking forward to a reply! -Jon

They take it away to be tested, depending on the constabulary they will test it themselves and or get a gunshop to test it-with the cost of crony's being cheap these days its best to test with a variety of heavy and light pellets regardless of a gun being a pcp or a spring gun.

The Police don't do the testing. If you are suspected of having an airgun over the limit or you have done something else to warrant their attention, the rifle will be confiscated and tested by a local RFD with a selection of pellets in most normal cases. Some times it is sent off to a lab/testing firm. Google it. There used to be dedicated shooting forensic labs but they have all gone or privatised. There are some specific cases.

What was thier reason for taking the gun,if you where there doing nothing wrong they must give you a reason-confiscating private property without a reason is not legal.

About 25 years ago I was a silly boy and got caught shooting on my local canal.. The Police took all my rifles off me for testing.. I got a caution and got the rifles back within about 6 weeks with pestering them.

Some constabulary's will test it themselves first before passing it over to a gunshop ect to be tested again if it is over,i was told it was to save time and money.

Not had my rifle taken away to get tested, but I have tested my rifle with a combro for them. My old neighbor thought I had a high powered rifle, taking pot shots at his cat!

I was safely and innocently plinking!

The combro sorted everything out, plod were very impressed:)

never known anyone who has had their rifle tested. i know a lad from up north who threatened to shoot his ex missus with one of his air rifles if she came round causing trouble. his house got raided they took his rifle. he signed a document to say he was happy for the rifle to be destroyed and it never got tested.

I had one member who had a Domestic with His Wife

Who called Police - stating he threatened Her on arrival found house full of Air Gun's

Fire Arms Team was called and All was removed

Seems He had TAC Guns not on ticket - resulting in collection of over 100 rifles and Pistols
    Being sent away for Testing

He Did Serve Time and Was not allowed to get back overpowered Air Guns & unlicensed TAC Guns - Rest was sold on his behalf
As banned under Section 21 - from owning them

Had another Member walking from his House to mine - with a New .22 Rifle - Stopped going past Tube Station

Was forced to take gun out of Case and photographed in Street - Did managed to get it back after many words with Local
Inspector - As Bolt Action and No air - they thought it was a .22 Rimfire - Even when Showed the bill adverts etc
Joke it was in a proper Case and He was in normal clothing - coming to me to fill it up as New . The owner was in his late 30's.

Speaking to BASC fire Ams Team aware there are cases around the Country - for which they have been involed in

Talking to Fire Arms officers - that I shoot with around the Country - they state that a growing number are being removed

Often following recovery of theft of Air guns - That have been Tested and found to Exceed Sub 12FP for rifles & Sub 6 for Pistols
Most seem to opt for Destruction instead of Day in Court and possible Jail Time.

theres was a lad called LeeDantex off the dark side recently, maybe a month or two ago who bought an Edgun Matador. He did the buy in a car park and somebody saw the deal - called the polis and gave a registration plate - he had the gun for a few hours before they turned up at his door and took it away.. He believed it might have been over and the thread detailed his anguish before he found out the result... IIRC there was 2 threads about it... turns out he got it back no problems. might be worth a search for the details - I think he had something missing when it was returned, but he got it back after talking to the FEO..

My brother has had his tested and the local police turned up with all the FAO and all the kit. Tested it there and then and handed it back to him with no problems.
