1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

If I could find it one of the best ghost/spirit stories I've heard is by ReallyBigMonkey1 on YouTube, he said he felt stupid telling his story but you could see in his eyes he'd experienced something freaky and whether it be a trick or whatever else I think we've all experienced something we can't quite explain.

Mine was a near-miss with a large truck coming out of a local lane as I was about to enter it and I swear I should have experienced a massive crash and the injuries or embarrassment that would have come with it; However, it seemed to me like my car and it's occupants phase shifted and the truck passed right through us. With my logical scientific head on though, all I can think is Adrenaline is one hell of a drug!!!

" Ghosts" are merely the personification of energy, not yet allocated to a different realm, in limbo, if you will. A person's " death" is only a departure of energy( life force) from a vessel in which it was previously stored( the body). Energy is a constant, merely changing form...much as in an airgun, where compression energy is converted to projectile velocity , a ghost is released energy of the once living, in search of of its " impact" to transfer energy once again into a different form or plane.
    Derision is possible, discussion welcome...
This could lead to talks of re- incarnation , Deja vu, etc.

I've lived in two haunted houses and have no doubt as to the reality of these things.

Anybody play with a ouija board or have mates that did?
I heard a few stories as a kid about stuff setting on fire and a lad that used to walk around sniffing a bread bag of petrol that was supposedly traumatised by am experience :D

I’ve never believed in ‘ghosts’ or the unexplained until I witnessed an apparition in the company of two work colleagues about 20 years ago. We saw exactly the same thing at the same time so was it a mere coincidence?
Anyway, I’m open minded now for what it’s worth.

About 7 years back I was sitting in the club bar one saturday night, I was sitting on a bar stool chatting to the barmaid, Nobody else in the building.
Heard a door outside the bar swing & as i was looking at the window saw the reflection of something move across the bar doorway. I didnt say anything but waited about 20 seconds then got up & walked to the door. Nobody there.
Barmaid said "What did you see?" Then told me she had seen someone go across the doorway to the fag machine on the cctv.
There were a few strange things happened around that time, Doors that had just been locked opening themselves that sort of thing, One of the barmaids was convinced it was a particular older member who had passed away some years before mucking about!

I believe in ghosts, only ever seen one of them though and it was recently too but I've heard a few things.

I was coming back from Mccolls in Galleywood with a mate and we were heading down Galleywood hill and on the right hand side of the road and we both saw a head with what looked like a horse riders helmet on. I remember swearing because horse riders are a nuisance at the best of times but when you need to pass them on the hill it's worse as the road tends to wind around and you can't always see what's coming, leading you to be stuck behind them.

The head was bobbing up and down with the body being covered by the bushes as they rounded the corner leading me to believe that they were in canter or trot so maybe it wouldn't be so bad but as we slowly went around the corner ourselves there was nothing. There's trees and thick shrubs/grass on both sides of the road and there were no signs of anyone in the woodland. Not even the foliage was trampled to indicate that someone might've walked through there but was out of sight.

Spooky, especially when you consider that both of us saw it.

Another thing that was weird is that years ago the brother bought a tape video recorder and it was tradition that he'd film us on Christmas eve and Christmas day and we'd watch the tape the next Christmas. The weird thing was that we had the TV off in reality but on the tape it was on and with Sonia from EastEnders being on screen.. at 10am in the morning... on Christmas day. There's no way in hell that the TV was on, for one there's so much going on here that nobody would even watch it and none of us even like the soaps.

A really creepy one where I had another witness (older brother) was back when we lived at Kent, we had a stable block there and we converted one of the stables into a type of computer/games room. One day me and the older brother was in there and he was using the PC while I was playing the Ps2 and all of a sudden we hear a noise that sounds like someone was pulling the latch on the closed stable door, we both look at each other and shrug as usually a change in temperature can make wooden doors creak.

After that though there's an almighty rattle coming from the door just like someone was really trying their hardest to violently break in. We both bolt for the door, open it up and nothing. No one outside and nothing that could've caused that sound. I've heard other weird stuff there too like the sound of somebody walking along the concrete base in heels at the early hours of the morning but when I've gone outside.... nothing, and the stables were empty at the time.

The uncle has a seriously messed up story and the aunts are witnesses to it but I want to get the full story from him before I post it as it was a while ago that they told me it.
