1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

At that price, I think that I will use normal cable ties and just snip them off afterwards!

This unit continues to perform perfectly and with little variance from my ‘Skan’ chrono.

The battery life can be an issue as I generally use it heavily during a shooting session.
I shall be fitting rechargeable batteries when the current lot run down fully.

The latest installed update on my iOS device is V 1.4.39

I have found that my FX chronograph is also inconsistent. The inconsistencies have
unintentionally been confirmed in this review:
I posted a comment about the variation in velocity readings recorded in this YouTube review. The reviewer has replied to most of the other comments but has has been completely ignored mine. This does make me wonder about supposedly independent reviewers!

Think you’ll find the inconsistencies on that Vid come from the Fx Impact

That's the problem I'm having, i.e. not knowing for sure if it's the chronograph, the rifle, the regulator/plenum recharging period or the pellets causing velocity inconsistencies. I suppose I need to test my FX chronograph against a calibrated high end chronograph before looking at anything else. If it is the rifle causing the variations in the YouTube review then I think it must be very disappointing to spend £1700 on an FX Impact and get a variation of 42 fps in a 10 shot string (7:06 in the video) .

I've found that the FX is very close to the combro and Air Chrony Mk3, so its not something I'm losing sleep over. I also continue to use it on its on bipod, whether the rifle in on bags or its own bipod. I find this works well (for me).

I have bought one of those 3D printed frames, but haven't used it yet....I bought it because I was surfing and perusing and thought why not......but right now, using the chrony on its own bipod works for me.

It's definitely not the impact at fault, I tested the Hades and found the exact same inconsistencies in the pellets speeds.
Only one way to test your chrono and that's against another chrono.

YOU don’t know it’s definitely not the Impact

I agree with you about testing it against another that’s what I’m planning on doing with mine

Thanks for posting that - it's good to know that a high quality pellet can cause high variation in velocity. What is the best pellet you have found for your Impact to give a small variation in velocity and what was the deviation?

In mine so long as I weigh the pellets the shots can literally be duplicates with odd ones going a couple of FPS either side.

Marky-Boy you are correct i definitely don't know the impact isn't at fault, but seeing the same results with same pellets it's was a educated guess. They have there faults but that an extreme spread isn't one of them unless somethings gone wrong or broken.

Thanks for replying - great information. Have you tuned the regulator/hammer spring tension to get a couple of FPS either side. I'm guessing you get those results using standard, sorted by weight, JSBs (or similar).

No real playing around as it's all still got the anti,-tamper locktite in place.
Just a clean from new a drop of oil and ran it in.
Yes standard weighed jsb pellets it likes and fire a few dry shots to get the reg settles. It suffers a little reg creep when left a while.

Could it be that more time is needed between shots on the Impact to allow the reg to settle?
Strangely I've seen this behaviour on 2 Impacts and my Crown when using the FX chronoo_O
I still believe that these inaccuracies are not great and I have no confidence in mine to be precise.

Sounds like you've got an excellent rifle there. My FX Crown has similar reg creep when left over a long period - I don't see it as a problem. What I have also noticed is a very small creep up to full reg pressure after each shot (say less than 10 sec) - I find this a little more of a concern regarding consistent chronograph readings.

Mine doesn't have that fortunately, after a shot it's up in a second. If I shoot and turn it to see it's done. I have to shoot it looking at the reg pressure to see it move.

Yes for now the rifle is shooting very evenly, the Bucketboy and Jefsky mods look good for future though.

Goes for the Crown as well I think.
    Likewise.
Do you mean the FX chronograph or your FX rifles?

The chrono mate...the rifle is pin point accurate....the chrono and app on the other hand
It has got better though and despite having one early doors as I pre ordered and moaning about the tripod system they have at least acknowledged and addressed the useless things.
Still a fussy chrono to use but the additional bracket that is available has made it more useable and reliable.

I understand that a ‘big update’ is being done soon.
Keen to know what it is.

In the meantime, my unit continues to operate very well indeed.

I still have my Skan, (as a backup), which has pretty much been relegated to the parts cupboard.
