1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

After much research and question asking I finally decided to go for and FX Verminator as my latest rifle.
The 1st thing I was impressed with was the nice presentation in its takedown case and the fact that you get 2x 8 shot mags with it...Nice touch:up:
Despite the fact that on first impression the pistol grip and stock appear cheap, they really aren`t. In fact the overall finish and quality of the gun is superb. It is extremely easily put together and once done you can adjust the reach length of the whole rifle with one grubscrew on the cheekrest, this same screw also makes the gun right or left handed bias as well:up:
All set up and time to load the mag, this opeation is by far the easiest out of all my rifles and can also be loaded once in position. Actually fitting the mag is not quite as simple as say my Airwolf for example but not troublingly so. Loading perfect, fitting not so great! Once the mag is spent you literally pull the cocking bolt back and hold then pull the mag release and it actually flys out like the spent cartridge on an M16. This is not the best of ideas though beacuse if you were hunting at night and didn`t catch it then I suspect you would be paying the £20 for a new one:eek:
The cocking action is also fantastic with the vertical "biatholon" style cocking lever which self returns so you just have to literally flick it back and thats you ready for another shot:up:
Accuracy as I would expect with all pcp`s these days is blinding and was zeroed in about 20 shots and stayed consistent grouping approx 15mm over 35m and with a weirauch moderator is a lot quieter than my BSA Ultra but perhaps not quite as silent as the airwolf all with the same mod.
The rifle is very VERY compact and depite being so short has a great balance and is very pointable:up:
Shot count is in the region of 150 shots between 210bar and 90bar but I haven`t really experimented with the bottom end of the pressure scale yet. Also filling is nice and simple.
    Down sides:down:
The rifle retails at £799 which is an awful lot of dosh for a very small rifle but you do get a lot of rifle for the money despite the size!
My one had to go back after I discovered it was only putting out 9.4ft/lb with powapells:down:
It loses approx 20bar evertime you take it down:down:
A small bipod cannot be fitted without buying an additional tubeclamp costing £29.99.
    It is VERY pellet fussy:down:
Try before you buy and if you decide to buy one new then get the shop to put as many different scopes on it until you are sure because only a few scopes really do the vermy justice!
Hope this has been of some help.
    Cheers
    Matt

Not a bad review at all. What scope did you end up with and what scopes where a definite no? How do you find it groups at 35 metres?

    ---------- Post added at 12:09 ---------- Previous post was at 11:48 ----------

Did it come with a 10 year guarantee from BTAS?

    Scopes

I went for the mini swat 4-9x44 which although is a really good scope and suits the Vermy I think I could have better on there. If there was such a thing as a 4-12x 50 which was only as long as the mini swat it would be perfection:)
As for groups at 35m, that is just outside the range at which I can set up targets so I couldn`t answer that one.
Once I get it back from FX at the correct power I will try out longer ranges.

Are these guns such as the Verminator and Gladiadtor regulated or not.

The Verminator and the Gladiator have opposing cylinders which work against each other. Something like a regulator I am told.

And on Friday I hope to have one in 177. The last available in the country according to Deben.

I did hear that they were in short supply. I wan`ted to buy from either of my local shops but neither could get me one for a least 2 weeks so I took the 90min drive down to the AGC.
I`m certain you will be impressed!! Make sure they chrono it before you take it away though as mine was underpowered so might be a dodgy batch. I bought mine 3 weeks ago.
    Enjoy.

Tomorrow is another day and I have narrowed my search down to 4 guns. Air Arms 410, 510, Daystate Huntsman and FX Verminator. Tomorrow I am hoping to compare the AA with the Vermi if it has arrived. Either way the day has dawned when my hunt will end. The X2 will be no more and whatever will be, will be.

SIgs changed but still haven't got sorted. The Verminator that was in stock was faulty and that ended that. Now waiting to see what he can get on Tuesday as the only AA 410 was in 22 and the Huntsman isn't comong till Tuesday.
