1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Welcome to the warm feeling that comes with owning an Impact. Great combination and the same as me.

My single shot adaptor arrived last friday (thanks Anthony) but I've only just managed to get to a range today.
It worked a treat, once I'd sorted out the right angle to hold the rifle when loading :)
I had a couple of pellets fall backwards into the but-stock but some downwards angle stopped that.

    good work Anthony

I am going slightly adrift here but my mind is in a bit of a spin. I have been offered a 6 month old Impact with both .177 and .22 barrels. The guy simply didn't get on with it although having looked through the scope it is not surprising as the scope is on low mounts...........................

If I go ahead it will mean I can swap some items with my .25 fac version as I already have a slot for a .22 barrel on my ticket and I could use the air tank as a back up tank on a long day when I use all my air up in the FAC, well okay that has not happened so far.

The old pension is not as productive as I would like so deep thoughts going on here, shall I, shall I not........................................................................... We are away clay shooting in Suffolk for a long weekend tomorrow so I dare say I will be debating with myself all weekend. My wife says go and get it which is a bonus................ we will seeeeeee. I must admit, a brace of Impacts would be very nice and I have just picked up two new perms today with my shooting partner so a sub 12 will be very handy but there are plenty of others a whole lot cheaper but nowhere near as good.

So today, was the first time i stepped outside with my fx impact .22 sub12.
The weather, sunny. Wind present; but my permissions is rarely windy as it's fairly sheltered. It was time to get it zeroed in.

I received my impact back of Air-Fective last week and the viper pro was slapped back on its thrown and firmly secured in place. Now, my previous rifles bar the wildcat were considerably load. My R-10 with its standard shroud and moderator still had a crack to it, the impact however I had to chronograph it to see if it wasn't underpower.

So at 30yards Im getting pellet on pellet, I mean through the same bloody hole! I was sat in the field looking at the impact asking my self "what kind of black magic is this?"

Am I impressed? You bet your bottom dollar I am! Next is to bag its first kill.

Big thanks to Shoto1 as well, very helpful chap and I owe him a beer.

Is some kind of wizardry required to shoot these accurately? Just taken mine outside for the first time and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I've only jsb exact 4.52 at present, but it won't group worth a darn. One pellet might land 4 inches beneath the next at 40 yards. All shots were fired at the red dot...

A 5 shot "group". Those are some significant fliers!

Have you cleaned the barrel as they have crap down them from factory. Plus mine was so tight it barely fired a pellet.

I was aware of that, but it's a used gun, and had a tune by airfective, so figured it wasn't necessary. I'm over to the shooting ground on thursdday or friday, so will let some other folk have a go to see if I'm just being daft. Will see if I can knock up a pull through in the mean time. If it means anything, I pushed the shroud in to see if it was anything to do with it, and the accuracy got even worse.

From what I'd read,. these guns were tested in the factory with jsb exacts.

Take the shroud off to see if that’s the sticking point.

Might be worth checking with a chrono and seeing if there’s anything else up otherwise I would have thought it’s a barrel issue. Call Liam at Airfective and have a chat with him about it. He’s a good guy and will be able to make sure all the other settings are right.

Just had a chat with the guys at air-fective, and apparently it sounds like someone has beeing doing some monkey business with the rifle and modofied it to FAC in the past, and then back to sub 12 come selling time. Been given some things to try, but sounds like it might need to be sent in for a service.

I thought that might have been the case and why I suggested to call them, fairly common with these unfortunately. It will be better than new after a trip to them.

Yeah. Going to pop back out and give it a go without a shroud ("everyone takes them off anyway because they're rubbish" was liams comment :D), and if it is indeed just clipping, then I'll get them to make me up a shroud and stick a propper moderator on it. Need to go find some heavy pellets to try now. Liam stated that most tended to use heavies with the impact. What a bummer though, that makes 2/3 of the guns bought off this forum fubar on arrival :/

It’s a bummer but still much better off than buying new, hope you get it sorted easily.

Ok, so it definately isn't the shroud. Time to sort out a service. I never seem to have any luck with pcp's! Ultra SE needed a service on arrival, has never shot straight, s510 died within a week and had to go back to AA, and now this. Maybe I should just stick to the 99s :D

For those in the know, am I right in thinking this should not be possible with sub 12? Just worried I might end up being the wrong side of the law.
