1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I know the popular FX wildcat and impact are widely viewed as some of the best guns but are quite expensive.

While looking have noticed they have quite a big line up of different rifles, are some of the others as good?

have seen a good deal on a dreamline which puts it in HW110 and 100 territory, I thought FX would be out of budget, I like the style they go for but if you had to pick an FX like the above would it beat a HW100 for you ?

I recently picked an HW100 over the FX streamline with STX barrel (so basically a Dreamline without the ability to change to other types using the modular system, smaller magazine and no reg pressure gauge).

I've handled a Dreamline at my local club though and it's a really light and nice to use gun.

Try both and see what you'd prefer?

I went for the HW as it's a bit of a project and there's just more options out there for what I can do with it compared to the FX.

They Dreamline is a lot lighter if that matters to you.

FX guns are more suited for FAC imo
Can’t see spending sheds Loads of money on FX guns sub12
HW 100 format probably the best sub 12 you can buy

the groups and shooting seems unbelievable on the FXs. I just wasnt sure why there wasnt more made of the dreamline after watching a few vids and the prices of them.

Good point that, it’s all gone quiet after the fanfare release! The modular system is a great idea.

    Anybody on here bought one?

I prefer airguns designed as FAC. Such rifle, properly tuned down to legal limit, lasts longer.

I’ve had a couple of fx guns. And a few hw100s, for me the likes of the impact, which I loved, is wasted at our sub 12 levels and it’s more suited to fac, if I had an fac then I’d have one in .25 no problem at all. The wildcat I had I loved, nice and simple and just worked. Found it difficult getting a good cheek weld but should have tried higher mounts and possibly a connect scope before I sold it on. I’m after another of these. I’ve seen the dreamline in the standard stocks, the streamline replacement basically, in all honesty, I’d go for the hw unless you want a higher shot count, the hw puts in great groups at 45yds, as good as anything I’ve had virtually. I’d have another in a heartbeat, my .20 cal kt was lovely with all the add ons I put on it. Sometimes it’s just nice having a new toy but I do love the hw100kt. You can also pick up used wildcats for very good prices if you fancy one of those.

I meant all airguns in general, not FX only. I owned FX T12, Impact and now I have Royale. If I could I’d get Impact with Royales breech block simplicity.

I have an impact in sub 12ft ,which is accurate as hell and a dreamline lite in sub 12ft, I have had a lot of different guns over the years and there very hard to beat.

not a fan of the 100 by any means, but they shoot straight :)
FX seem to have had a lot of problems with sub 12- I had a royale that was probably the last good one they made. Wildcat, crown, streamline have all have their share of problems, from badly assembled to unable to hit a barn door.
the good news is that once they are fixed, they are definitely good. had a streamline and have a crown that were orrible, but now, having been sent back and sorted, are pretty much perfect. I know a lot of other users here have had the same problems and solutions.

Have a look at see what you like, that will be the gun for you. As a shameless plug, my crowns in the for sale section :)
For me I take a regal over both of these, much nicer gun for me.

I tried loads of bullpups, the Galahad, Brococks, a P15, a Pulsar, a Mastif, the Defiant and settled on the FX Wildcat. No regrets. Tried the HW100 and it was too heavy and I preferred the Ultra and the R10 in the carbine category.

Everyone has different opinions on both makes of guns, I own quite a few fx guns and 1 custom hw100 ( I have had a few of the hw100s)
I would personally pick fx out of all the guns I own or have owned.
This is my opinion only. Best thing to do is buy one of each and then sell the one you don't like.
