1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Greenstar energy clims to have 100% green energy. However, there is only 2 ways to get 100% green ernergy supplyed to customers.

    1. Own infrastructure (green windmils etc)
    2. Source green energy from other companies that have connections.

Daily mail claims that green star has none of the above. So their clims of supplying 100% green energy are false. Shoulnt the cops shut them down?!?!

    Here is the article:

Surely 100 % green energy is impossible as even a windmill will require resources to manufacture and maintain. Offshore windmills require a boat to maintain using diesel, cars to get the workers to work etc so how can any energy production be 100 % green ?

You have just shattered all my illusions about a perfect world in which trillions of folk can be supported with green energy and all their food grown on a football pitch.

It seem they’re operating within the law, and what they're doing is similar to the the way companies (and governments) buy carbon credits so they can carry on polluting.

I automatically assume that any claims of being “eco friendly” or “green” are just marketing guff.

surely this cant be true, there must be some mistake. greta thunderbird, gail bradbrook and extinction rebellion, and a host of eco planet saving warriors have graphs, facts, statistics, scientific evidence, and raw data, that clearly show that we all need to buy into this wonderfully amazing green future. we all know that they are telling the truth, because they told us they are. this sounds like those naughty climate deniers trying to cause trouble, and stop a few people from making a few honest billions. anyway our mp's wouldnt let them mislead us, and rip us off would they :thumb:

There's a widely held belief that your energy is supplied by your contracted supplier. All sources of generation are shared by all customers via the national grid. How anyone can conceive their little bit can be sent in a segregated way down a shared "pipeline"...?
Your contracted supplier is little more than an administrator who sends your money to a generator after deducting their administration fee.

It’s also a ‘frodulant clim’ to offer your patreons free chapters from your imminent book as an incentive, and then, years later, you still haven’t delivered.

Yeah Arek....me and @gasman want to know when we get these free chapters of your book please?

There's a hole roll shortage happening again and @gasman needs a back up and I need something sufficient for a back stop.....though I'm pretty sure that a gat gun firing a dart would make it through 4 copies of A4 paper with drawings of penises on (which is what this book is about I presume ?)

The 'free' chapters were going to be in digital format. Not that it makes any difference...

Wind gens have diesel generators o/b to run the electrical equipment onboard + to weather-cock to turbines, boats ( with 2 large 6 cylinder diesels) trot about refuelling them & taking maintenance personnel as well. These boats travel considerable distances to carry out this work.

We are with Bulb for electricity, who also claim to be 100% green, i am not concerned where the power comes from, i am with them on price only, it you want to change to bulb PM me for a code & we can both benefit

To be fair, there is no green energy right now. All the sources of so-called "green" energy are at a huge carbon footprint deficit- wind turbines take around 30 years to compensate for the steel, concrete, transport and erection CF costs, hydro electric is around 25 years, tidal around 20, and solar about 4 years, but theres so little of that its hardly worth counting.

I get sick and tired of being told how bad our power stations are for the environment, and how we should use green energy by no-nothings that want to take th emoral high ground and dont have the first clue what they are talking about. Mst of them seem to have that holier than thou attitude due to driving electric cars- probably the biggest polluter this century!
