1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

It may be a little naive, but one would hope they'd get off their arses and do what we pay them to do. Having previous experience of coppers who would do anything to avoid solving a crime (and one in particular who turned up half p1ssed), I won't hold my breath.
If I were you, Claude, during your next dealings with the police, tell them he racially abused you. Therell be at least 3 vans and half a dozen tooled up coppers on him like flies on a dustbin in 30 seconds flat.

Sadly, this was exactly I envisioned when I saw on the previous thread that the tosser had sent something...

As others have mentioned, the recorded parcel weight and any fingerprints are the key bits of evidence of fraud.
But I can only imagine the process of legal recovery will be unfortunately onerous - but don't let that put you off trying to make his life misery because that's what he's relying on from this point on...

I feel for you Claude mate.

I’ve read both threads and Claude I’m really sorry for what you’re going through.

I know we’ve heard from one solicitor/lawyer (sorry, don’t know the difference) but is there anyone out there who can give Claude some sound legal advise?

Thanks everyone I.have bought from freeads before many times and for quite large sums,we in Norfolk are still a bit naive as crime here is not too bad unfortunately this time I got caught but I asked for adress which he gave and a phone number which initially I rang 3 times and he answered 3 times answered all my questions ,sent pics of the r10 in the initial parcel being wrapped and adressed so I had no reason to doubt but this time it was not to be.As for police we got burgled a year ago while asleep in bed ,police told us no hope of catching them just claim off insurance and yet we live near a school and daily have a police officer at top of road with a speed camera he has stopped me and warned me for doing a massive 22mph!!!

    1. The ref num of the parcel is key. The weight proves the R10 wasn’t sent initially so he can’t claim it was nicked in transit.
    2. If you do visit, I believe the location is known on prev thread, call into the local cop shop. He will be known as he has form. The newspaper stories I posted prove that. Say what happened and that you are going to visit him straight after to get your £500 quid back. Give them your crime number.
    3. Visit him. Get money. Call police if he doesn’t, cite your discussion at local nick.

To the credit of the buyer and in balance of those calling him naive I think his level of trust shows that he himself (the buyer) must be a thoroughly honest, decent and honourable kind of a fella

Only someone utterly trustworthy would naturally expect others to be 'normal' just like themselves

I hope you get your money or your gun but I don't at all fancy your chances but I do wish you luck amigo

Correct Rob iirc if you've served a prison sentence of less than 3 years you're banned from owning an airgun for 5 years. If you've served a prison sentence of over 3 years you're permanently banned from owning one.

No, it doesn't. The concept of 'karma' is sky-fairy moonshine. Lots of people escape the consequence of their actions.
Claude has all the details and he can monitor the guy, bide his time.

    Not an issue mate.

Between 3 months and 3 years your a prohibited person for 5 yrs. This includes suspended sentences.

3 years and over and boom lifetime prohibition which can be appealed or at least you used to be able to.

A caution isn't a conviction and counts for nothing until you are facing conviction in the future.

As has been said it's just that 'a caution' it is not a actual prosecution and it's certainly not a prison sentence which you have to receive to be forbidden from owning an airgun either for 5 years or permanently depending on the length of the prison sentence.

Is their account still frozen @claude? Or have the bank said there's nothing they are going to do?
