1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. No longer allowed Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- We now do not allow political and religion threads anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section) unless Airgun related and they must be put in the Airgun related politics section..

Staff will not move posts for you if you put it in the wrong section – it will simply be deleted. You will then have to type it all out again and put it in the right place, so heed this warning.

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

You have to remember this is Lincolnshire. Your grant could take anything up to 6 months ( the worse case scenario that I ACTUALLY know of) but most take around 3 months. Processes get a bit quicker once you have your certificate although I have only done variations online on this ticket and sneaked in just before the online system started. Seems like you done the right things so don’t panic, nothing will happen quickly!

I made an appointment with my gp, told them I was applying for my fac, paid £20 for a letter, picked it up from the surgery and posted it along with my application, wasn't prepared to wait for the back and forth, luckily it took 4 days to get my ticket from the initial phone call from the feo regarding a meeting to him posting it by hand :D:D

I sent everything to the Police. They contacted my Doctor. My Doctor contacted me, asking for a payment of £20 (I think), which I paid.

Doctor returned forms saying all was well and they had no concerns etc.

But I had said on my application that I had stress 10 years ago. (Divorce related) Police were not happy that Doctors had not mentioned this and insisted in another medical form being completed.

All turned out fine in the end. Doctor argued that I had 'stress like' symptoms, that only lasted a month, not a diagnosed condition.

    Good luck with your application.

    This.
Guidance from BMA and others; no charge initially (no reply or OK reply to police will not incur a charge or if so the police will have to pay, no reply will mean assumption of no concerns from the doctors) but if you declare a relevant condition on the form you may well have to pay for the subsequent report.

    Fill out form
    Get photograph
    Enclose cheque for license

    Post it to local police

They will then take it from there, and contact your doctor themselves. The doctors have like 7 days or something to respond to them and if they don’t the police just assume everything’s ok and carry on with the application as normal

I'm in this process right now, forms went to Police and Doctor on same day (2 weeks ago) I was told Docs fee would be 20-25£. Rang them to try and chivy them along (on FO suggestion) now they're saying fee will be 25-40£ so maybe bugging them doesn't pay. I suppose 40 quid to a GP is pocket change....so I'm still waiting, I reckon I'll be lucky to get licence before the end of summer. The whole process (joining club, probation etc) was started in January. One guy there waited 10 months for his FAC.

You do know the system has changed a bit, it's no longer the Doc filling in a form, they now have to submit a full report.

If only it was that easy..dont work like that in Lincolnshire they have to spread it out a bit to get money out of you..was told by receptionist at my surgery."no pay no docs letter" its just one big rip off. What ever happend to the 10 bob shotgun licence from the post office.
