1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

After having my s400 for a while now I have been looking around at loads of different rifles mainly pcp, but want something with quite a high shot count in .177. Then I came across a video of the BSA R10 mk2! Could this be my perfect rifle? Hmm I think so!
Is there any pros and cons on this rifle?

For me the R-10 was so good out of the box I held back on the idea of sending it off for a Blueprint. It really is a superb rifle if you get a good one. The stock on mine was so nice I bought another rifle (Hammerli) to shoot HFT with as I didn't want to scratch the R-10.

This is what my R-10 was capable of at 39 yards dead. 10mm bullseye.

Have wanted one since i started up shooting again last year. Shame i can't afford one. I've got my S200 Mk3 that my cousin is buying off me for £300 all in but still have to find the extra bit to put towards it. I am hoping it is as good as everyone says and it looks as i'm expecting mega things from the R10 and dont want to be let down.

That's my plan too, sell the s400 & put the rest to. After I've had a touchy feel of one at local rfd of course!

You won't be disappointed,I've had mine since July of last year,it's been used every week and hasn't missed a beat,it's been brilliant, the only thing I would say is that if you get quite a heavy scope on it,it does become a bit of a lump to carry around so it's worthwhile getting a sling for it.

I'm interested in the Super10's as well. Are the differences worth the extra cash on an R10?

Without chrono'ing it I can only guess that it was and I think that picture I posted earlier is testament to that.

my 177 is doing less than 10mm groups single holes with aa fields no probs to use hunting as i know where i point it is where the pellet will land with no fliers and i would say is prob a much more accurate gun than my 22 hw which i wouldnt use for hunting its just not accuragte enough and i wouldnt want to wound my prey its unfair.

BSA barrells are amongst the best, with BSA guns generally prefering the larger pellet head size. Very good shot count, although some people have replaced the 200cc bottle with a 280cc for even more shots

I have a hankering for two mk2 R10's - one in .177 at 12fpe for general hunting, and one in .22 at about 30fpe to fill my vacant FAC air slot. I've never fired one, never even seen one in the flesh, but I love the look and the ethos behind them (especially since the mk2 came out and seemingly has done away with the niggles that the mk1 suffered from). I'd put a 280cc on the FAC version to increase the shot count, but other than that I think I'd leave them pretty much standard.

I have been tempted to buy a second hand one and send it to XTX for a it chopping down on the shroud. I really do like the R10 and after a bad start with the early mk1's they seem to have got the mk2's right
