1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    hi all

further to my post about the falcon

i took back the bsa lightening xl se and swapped the gun for the pcp lefthand falcon thank . i did. the falcon is wonderful, light, perfect fit ultra quiet, i refinished the stock with tru oil first job, bolted on the scope and set up to sort out the mr rat problem i have here (countryside smart rats dam um) well the target is set at 25yrds which is the max i need good group of shots all bang on.....

however the pellets are clipping the inside of the silencer every now and then so just when i have mr rat in my sights the shot is the one that goes way off target see in the target one shot dropped.

well i have drilled out the baffles in the silencer bigger realigned it but it only takes a knock to put the silencer off center is there a cheap silencer i can use that people can recommend or do i drill a bigger hole in the baffles i am up to 10mm so far

Good work for binning the Lightning, sorry to hear you're having problems with the Falcon..

Firstly, modifying the mod is most likely only addressing the symptom rather than the cause - my bet would be a damaged / pished / otherwise misaligned moderator adaptor. I'd leave the mod alone as larger holes in the baffles and end cap will only reduce its effectiveness.

If you haven't already, group-test the rifle with the mod and adaptor removed to ensure that the problem is definitely with the mod assembly. Secondly, try the existing mod with a different adaptor if you can, and inspect the existing adaptor for obvious damage / misalignment (the hole might be bored out of line if it's been crudely opened up to fit the barrel, or the threaded portion might be bent at its base if the gun's been dropped on the mod in the past).

Finally even though it's second hand it should still be fit for purpose, so before you go any further you want to have a word with the shop (they may be a bit cagey now though the mod has been altered).

Good luck getting it sorted - it looks like a really nice little gun otherwise :)

Swap the adaptor for a different one,the threads might not be cut central to the bore for it to be aligned to the silencer

took the mod apart yes the plastic baffles have had pellets clipping them i would say a new moderator is in order any thoughts on a new cheap to medium mod at the moment it screws on to the barrel adapter fitting so has a female thread not sure of the size though the o ring on the adapter may be the culprit here as it is fairly crushed the thread is not a tight one so tightens on the o ring

Falcon made a really neat little square mod, that enclosed the filler adaptor and everything, they looked really cool and doubt they would clip, may be worth looking out for one.

But to address your problem, I would get another silencer adaptor mate, as its probably only going to be a future problem, the silencer shouldlnt move if its knocked.

And this may sort the problem, if it doesn't I would get another silencer, also, or just drill the baffles slightly bigger again on the one you have, as this will probably cure it and you've already done it so you have nothing to loose.

Just make sure is doesn't move first that's the priority, and the silencer you have may be obsolete anyway so you may as well open it up a bit more, it wont loose much of its silencing if you've ever seen the size of the hole in some decimetres they would fit a .30 cal through them.
