1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

if you had them over here i bet the police/ home office would soon be round to spoil your day:frown:

they do look like fun though:) .... puts a whole new angle on the subject of building a backstop:mad:.....i would have to build a completely new one:eek:

when we were kids we used to make homemade versions of those (it`s dead easy) but they were`nt as good as the ones in the video.

ok i was 12-13 years old at the time (33 years ago) when we made our own, but i remember that they were devastating on the local rat population

I was reading lots on getting an FAC license in the U.K. - seeing as I will require one if I move to London end of this year and hope to retain my air rifles. I believe I read that being in possession of pellets did not require an Fire arms certificate as they were non-explosive projectiles so presumably, being in possession of these pellets while not having an FAC in the U.K would be illegal

thankfully here in Luxembourg its not stipulated in the law, my wife is a lawyer here so I know straight away if I'm in the wrong:D

they sure as hell look like a lot of fun though:D :D

    thanks for posting this up!

Lykoris, you only need a Firearms Certificate if your air rifle exceeds the 12ft/lb energy limit, below that you're ok. Just make sure you're OK to transport the guns legally though and ALWAYS declare them at customs.

I think it would be a far better outcome than them finding a gun you hadn't told them about !! But I take your point....it might make people scatter somewhat !!

yeah, I read all about the limit and the FAC requirements on various UK govt/police/club websites last night -

have my eye on the S410 FAC though.....as I would like something with power for 'long range' shooting, as I said before I'm in the process of getting the license here and with it I can even buy a pistol (which to me is nuts as I've been used to strict gun regulation but target shooting is a popular sport here).

I've also been looking at the daystate MK3, been reading a lot of reviews on various PCPs

I know there is not an air gun with the range of a .22 LR which I believe is 150m after which the ballistics of the projectile make it inaccurate. (my knowledge is rather limited, as I said before only getting into air rifling again, all I ever had before were break barrels)

torn between the two, don't really want a real gun at home but want something with a long range and accuracy.

....erghhh sorry for stealing your thread, guess I have a lot on my mind, been researching what PCP....or .22LR I'll buy when I get the license;)

    could be either:

    1. a volitile explosive paste painted on the board.
2.a precussion cap on the bullet/pellet
3.it doesnt explode you just think it does.....

Well its pretty obvious what theyve done here for the explosion.
All they have done is glue on a cartridge primer cap backwards onto a pellet.
    Hardly rocket science A1:p

No offence mate but a .22 LR wont do the business out at 150mtrs without at least 6inches of holdover depending on ammo!.
Stick to sub 100mtrs and a .22 LR is in its element!:D
Ammo choice is the next thing. High velocity, standard, subsonic, hollow point or solids, even tracer, all have different shooting charatistics.
The best .22 rimfire on the market today is the Ruger 10/22 semi auto (yes Im biased cos I have one!:D) but without a doubt it is the most highly customised rifle on the market!.
Check out my one against a standard one,and all changes are legal (see my album).
Sniper stock,12.5"bull barrel, match trigger and thats before I even start on what Ive done to the internals and all LEGAL!!.
Shooting on subs shes doing 1" @80 mtrs and 1"@ 100mtrs using winchester super x HVs.
I leave the air rifle advise to my buddies here cos they know what the are talking about but I know my way around rimfire and centerfire rifles through experience,so if you ever have a question then please ask away;)
