1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

    'Behaviour

Do not make inappropriate or offensive posts - including threats, harassment, swearing, prejudice, defamation, deliberate insults or name-calling, other negative remarks about this forum, its moderators and administrators or your fellow members. Even if this is just your own personal opinion, RESPECT YOUR FELLOW MEMBERS.'

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    I couldn’t agree more Gary,

We are getting far too many of these needless, negative posts of late. If you haven’t got anything constructive and interesting to say, then don’t say anything, Simples.

    Regards.
    Les.

Granted things can sometimes look and feel pretty bleak but yes you should care. Do you not have kids or grandkids, nieces or nephews?

These kids are inheriting the world from us and we should do all we can do to make things as good as possible.

I dont know how old you are but chances are you'll be long gone before the demise of this world but that doesn't mean you shouldn't care though mate come on.

The world surely is doomed if everybody had that attitude.

I'm no tree hugger but I just feel sad for my kids sometimes about the world I've brought them into.

All the old blokes I know don't want to extend their life expectancy past the average!
One says eating muesli for life just to extend the end rubbish bit where you can't do anything seems a waste of time (plus you'd have to eat more muesli).
If you extended your teens/twenties then fair enough, but not the bit where you're dribbling everywhere.

On the one hand we are miles ahead in medical science but we are breeding a generation of unhealthies and people who would not have survived or procreated fifty or a hundred years ago, we encourage people to breed even though we know they may not be suitable or even able to raise offspring without help - that's not normal in nature - so the gene pool must be diluting but we are advancing so can take it, apparently. It's called progress.

Not anymore benefit caps are in place ,so for instance have 3 kids your income is 5 grand a year ,have another kid your income stays 5 grand. This is just an example i dont know the real figures:up:.People will not live any longer than previous generations, the food we eat the air we breathe the stuff we drink,is all chemicals, you dont think for one minute the powers that be dont know this ,but i bet everyone on here has seen over the last 30 years ,the fields that once had beef cattle, dairy cattle or crops, are now houses.

more people in the uk died through cold caused by fuel poverty in the winter of 2018 since 1976, the taxes on fuel / electricity are backfiring across europe, in germany 300,000 were cut off from their electrcity provider last year as they couldnt afford to pay and yet the new president of the eu has promised to "double down" on targets, i dont advocate doing nothing but policies are having a detrimental effect on the people paying the tax and emmissions are still rising

The trouble is we get conflicting reports not so long ago, in fact just recently, the 'experts' were saying iirc that about one in every four children has a realistic chance of living to 100 or possibly longer. It's the same with all this hoo-ha over food, one minute we're told something is a definite no no then later we're told perhaps it's not the villain that it was made out to be and eaten in moderation, and i do mean moderation, it isn't as harmful as they say and may even possess some beneficial effects.
I think some of these reports and studies are published to early without enough empirical evidence being obtained.
One things for certain we do seem to breeding/raising a generation that seem unable to function unless they perpetually have their bloody smart phone clutched in their hand and wedded to the more ephemeral aspects of life coupled with the fact that when they foul up it's not their fault, it must be because they suffered some sort of deprivation in the past or similar, that unless it's given to them on plate they're one of society's unfortunates.

We are living longer, mainly due to advances in medical treatment. This is despite the increasing stupidity of supposedly a better educated population. Common sense seems to be non existent, it amazes me that clever? people will take drugs off criminals and swallow them having no idea whats in them. Its Russion roullet. Its not how long you live its how well you have lived it!
