1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I'd like to say yes.....but am not 100% confident about peoples passion for it......its a wide world out there and we are an island and not part of mainland Europe which I think makes a difference.....

Would love it if we were out but think that it will be played safe through fear of the unknown...no doubt enhanced by media swaying to get the result the gov of the moment wants...

Unfortunately I think I shall have to vote to stay in,the reason being that the thought of Honda,Nissan and Toyota might possibly move their manufacturing abroad, into europe,if we were no longer a member is a possibility that's too awful to contemplate, not that it would affect me directly as I have no connection with said firms. If I could be assured that this wouldn't happen along with any other firms that might consider doing so and that we could trade freely with the E.U while remaining outside of it then I would vote to leave.

Not sure of the effects it could have ,we will only know if we opt out.
whilst the common market was a great idea I don't like this whole euro thing .
I doubt it will be a vote for out as too many have too much too loose in financial benefit .

Would be nice to have the trade benefits but with independent border, justice/law and financial controls. That is probably the best we could hope for. I also believe that ANY EU country should have the right to have that as well, not just us.

The whole single market/currency dream was flawed from the start and we should never have got into this mess in the first place. I think its Ted Heath we have to thank for this if memory serves me correctly.

Its a big world out there and there are some big emerging markets we should be trading with and not relying on on a European state that has never, ever had its accounts audited and signed off since its inception.......

I think two words sum the European union up well.....bureaucratic and corrupt!!

Back in 1975 I voted for in but it was the EEC then(european economic community)or the Common Market as it was popularly known as not the EU with all this political union etc.Yep lets have free trade, cooperation on matters of security and fighting crime but it should end there.

In. We live in a global economy, relying on global trade and whilst we're an industrialised nation, we've neither the raw materials or the manufacturing base that would sustain our place in it. Also think we're conveniently being fed a diet of fear on the issue of free movement within the EU, without an honest assessment of what we as a nation take from it.

Heart says out. Head says in.

I deplore the control, restrictions and beaurocracy from Brussels. And most of all I hate the ruling that effectively ended the life of the Land Rover Defender. For me this alone was reason to tell them where to go. Although in my fantasy world every household would own a Defender - provided by the state at reduced cost. No more would anyone say "Couldn't get to work due to snow/floods etc". People would drive slower too. By now we'd have petrol-hybrid versions which wouldn't pollute either.

I've not even got into migration yet either. Thing is people forget that before the EU anyone could work in a different country. You just needed to get a job through one of the specialist recruitment companies or similar. Then move. what happened since the EU is that anyone can move anywhere regardless.

However head says stay in. The trading and manufacturing links are fantastic. Not to mention the freedom of tourism. I'd stay in but only in a hugely reformed status.
