1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Well today I decided that even tho they are a good idea I think it’s time the hooded scrotes that are on them at night with the black hoodie up really need their arses kicking.
Basically I was approaching a roundabout and this twit came across the road in front of me no lights and a black tracksuit on.
I literally spotted him at the split second and managed not to flatten him and the helmet shouted at me!
They are getting popular here now and it’s the wrong people using them.
I think they should be banned. A good idea but they are dangerous wit the local idiots

    Here here.

Daily experience here in Newham and Redbridge.

Barstewards cost me a new tyre a few weeks ago.
Hit a kerb when I swerved to avoid a suicidal **** zooming out of a side turning at night, no lights of course!

Lots of students round my way. Winter nights, bikes and now e scooters, no lights, dark clothes, and without being racist, quite a few black guys, I have had a few near misses.

For hire they are legal if you have a driving licence and abide by highway rules.
Privately owned are illegal except on private land.

Road legal only if part of an approved hire scheme.
    Not legal if privately owned.

I know it sounds harsh but you have to be realistic. If you're in a car, possibly with family and a cat or dog crosses the road do you swerve? Lose control and crash?
Brake if you can obviously but don't put your life at risk or those who may be in your car.
You have a legal right to be on the road if you follow the rules and should never risk you or yours to protect idiots who have total disregard for the law or their own safety.

Same round here--always black hoodie, black clothes, and at night, no lights. There is a murder trial pending in Lancashire where a guy in a van allegedly drove his vehicle at one of these scooter menaces and killed him. Local talk has it that a scooterist smashed the driver's wing mirror with the handle bar, but the victim was mistakenly identified...

Seen the things sitting around along Bayshore Drive in Tampa, Florida. I guess you use a credit card. Thought it would be a good idea to just sling them over the railing and into the bay.

Only in areas where the council allow them to be. Nearly got run over on the pavement in York by a council hired one last month and I also can't understand why next week E scooters were being confiscated by the Welsh police??

Same in Derby & Notts, and they’re usually those little scum bags who are dishing out drugs equipped with man bags set at a jaunty angle across their chests. Little feckers!

It's not just scrotes on e-scooters.

Pretty much the same question arises regarding the nutters currently flinging themselves in front of vehicles on the motorways. Would you risk an crash - a threat to your life and probably many others - in order to avoid them?

Apparently it's illegal to use them on the road, certainly without insurance, and illegal on the pavement as well. So unless it's being used on private land or somewhere approved for their use then perhaps there's little point in owning one, but of course the companies/shops selling them almost certainly don't point that out to any potential customer i suspect.

We have to be careful with the call to ban things because some irresponsible scrote used them badly.

We're in the same position where irresponsible idiots could get airguns banned quite easily.

We could, but it seems the majority of Escooter owners are irresponsible in their use and are breaking any number of laws when they go out in public. Airgun owners in the main are responsible and sensible.

That was common practice for the undocked rental fleet of rental bikes that set up in London with a phone app to unlock. The offical citibike fleet are locked up to a docking point and you get charged until you re-dock a bike.
We spotted several on the little beaches at low tide in central London every time we went in :D you could see them lurking underwater from the many bridges over the canal system and rivers of London as well.

They had those orange bicycles in Manchester you could rent using the app - It didn't last long as many vanished, some appeared in the canals, others just got abandoned around the city.

Many years ago one of the neighbours little darlings thought it'd be a good idea to lie in front of the drive, all dressed in black, pitch black. I don't know what he was expecting to happen? But he soon shot up and moved when he realised I wasn't stopping (sorry I didn't see him officer ). Funnily enough we didn't have any further trouble after that :finger:

When I see clowns tearing about on motorbikes with no helmets, I do get the urge to give them a little nudge, or if they're mid wheelie give a little toot of the horn :p
