1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

I went down to one of my permissions tonight after exchanging daddy duties to mum, Ive been itching to get out as one of the last big fields of corn has been cut on one of my permissions.

So quick call to the landowner and I got the green light so I shot down with a bag of shells and my Browning maxus.

To be honest Ive passed a few times and not seen a pigeon so didn't expect much, so I went with the intention of a few crows.

Anyhow on pulling into the gate hole of the field a few birds were showing, by this time it was 6:00pm tonight so quite late but the sun on the field is always a good sign.

So I set up quickly and sat on my bucket and had one of the best 3/4 of an hour all year, it went right left, right left, right left, triple, right left right left and so on:D have to say my barrels were pinking[IMG],,then it just went dead about 7;30.

But I eventually had time for a cuppa out my flask and heard some geese, there is a giant scene flighting around the land and all the landowners want them thinned, however just not in range tonight, but Ill be back.

The thing that astonished me tonight when driving up the field was the amount of RATS on the field at night, I will be back for some of those also, I found and old tree full of holes so left them a few pigeons and will be back, it was crawling with them!

Hi James, well there was a tree the other side of the field that went down in the wind into the field, and the corn had already been planted so its grown tall all around the tree branches, that's where the rats were crawling around I even chased one with my light on my mobile phone as it wasn't bothered about me one bit.

So my plan is Ive already left some dead birds around there to attract more into that corner, so Ill turn up one late afternoon with the airgun and sit on the brocken tree, with my torch mounted on the gun I reckon I should shoot a few, may take a few dead birds to lay out as they may have the taste for pigeon if I leave them a few days.

It may all be a waste of time mate, but it happens to be a good rabbit spot anyway so I may get a bunny but I would rather shoot rats to be honest, If there is one thing Ive shot very few of its rats, I could shoot hundreds of them and I wouldn't feel bad, just don't like them.

Ive got a new(to me) gun on the way will be an ideal test for it as its .22 ;)

Nice one Elliot, a session to remember indeed. And the rats will give you some entertainment later. I have a similar situation in that there are rats around the barns/pond where l shoot and as yet l left them be, but not for much longer :p
