1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I've really enjoyed the forum and a thought (very rare in my case) occured to me the other night. There are many people from all over using the forum conversing and all we know about eachother is photos and what's on their public info. Well I wondered what you would hear if we were all in one place talking to eachother in person as on the forum you only read eachothers "voice". For instance what does Buzz sound like in reality,is his accent strong Northern or what, tc from up north is he Geordie accent ?, jamjon from Somerset, is his accent west country, Moo is your accent a true Essex girl or what ? what about fxpoacher the guy from Sweden, is his English with a scandanavian accent and those the other side of the pond what does your voice soundlike ? is a1's voice really welsh or, No not going there, bah :D (he can take it, you know he can)
So I'd like you to describe your accent if you can and try to find a personality that each would recognise.

My accent I think would go something along the lines as just southern with no real local twang, bit like Bill Turnbull from Breakfast tv, just a bit deeper voice really I think. Get the idea, good now try it yourself

I sound welsh like you see and i normally speek welsh like.

i talk lots of english as not everyone can speek welsh now days:(
even though we dont have many imegrants we get lots of english people escaping to the country because theres no trafic here.

we get so little trafic around here we get impatiant waiting 30seconds at lights:D

so we have to talk english to the english folk because their small brains cant take a second language:D

so normally the locals speek welsh to each other but in the more urban areas there's more english.

in the rural areas like where i am welsh is the main language

Christ A1 sounds like you're proper in the sticks

If a stranger goes into the shop do they get thrown out by the owner - "this is a local shop for local people, there's nothing for you here" (league of gentlemen)

I can just imagine when you go down the pub and announce "Mafanwey, I am the only airgunner in the village":D:D

Anyway I can't talk, I was bought up in the west country and tawk a bit lyke I du drink zider. Now 3 and a half years in the North East and my accent is all over the place:p

My accent depends on where I am and who I'm talking to. I've been used to travelling the World for my job and conversing with shop floor workers as well as CEO's, MD's and in one case a Sultan. So, in order to be understood at all in certain circumstances, I've had to temper my accent back and speak sort of neutral English. When I'm around family, friends and workmates I speak with quite a broad Yorkshire accent......and many an expletive to accentuate the point.

I der ken fit yi mean boot accents like cos e ken a kin spik akins and as fer Andy, coodna unnerstan a wird!!!:p.

I reckon Im quite broad country doric, but me and Andy could understand each other on probs, (and no, he aint no dummy brummie!!).
The only times I asked him to repeat was when I couldnt hear him and thats only cos Im deaf in one ear.

Seriously though, the only time I had problems being understood ever was in dear old London village where, I think its a mix of arrogance and ignorance in understanding ANY northern accent!.

    Long live Eastenders!.:)

I'm from Essex but am near to suffolk and sound a bit of a country bumpkin. Steve is also from Essex but he doesn't seem to have much of an accent to me. I'm sure people up north would probably disagree. I sound more suffolky I think :moo:
