90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I may have a problem with the Diana Giss recoilless guns. It’s not the worst problem in the world but it may cost a bit to fix...

I first got a Giss twin piston gun about 6 years ago when I picked up an RWS branded 75U 10m match air rifle. It was lovely to shoot and so as the opportunities arose I got Original 6 (with the bulky plastic grip) and then Original 6M air pistols. This morning I took delivery of Original models 65 and 66 air rifles, these will need a rebuild and new seals but this isn’t the problem.

My problem is that without intending to, I Have now collected most of the Diana Giss lineup. It now seems somewhat inevitable that I’m going to have to fill in the missing pieces. I’m aware that I’m missing a model 10 air pistol and 60 air rifle - were there any others?

Here is my collection so far, from top to bottom and left to right: RWS 75U T01, Original 66, Original 65, Original 6, Original 6M.

Does anyone have any other examples they like to share?

Very nice collection you have there, how about collecting all the variants of the 75, now there's a challenge.

Diana 72. Bet you haven't seen one of them.
Unfortunately I have only seen 1 and they wouldn't sell it to me :(

I had a 10m, it was the most pellet fussy airgun I've ever owned, so much so I went back to using a Webley Nemesis & got better scores.
There was a 72 but I think it's the kids size version.

That could be a challenge. There were 4 different 75s weren’t there? What’s the difference between the 75 and the 75HV?

I’d forgotten about the 72. I’ve seen pictures but gather they are rare. I believe they are built on the model 6 action?

That’s a shame, did you find any pellets it tolerated?

No, I tried everyone's pellets at the club, one of the Original nerds took it apart and said it was okay inside, it was a mystery.

    In addition to the above.

    LP6G
    LP6 Green grip
LP6 wood grip (early, v rare)
LP6G and 6M with match wood grips
LP6G and M with factory non-match wood grips
There are two variants of LP10M.
    60 Tyrolean
    65 Tyrolean

    75 variants are: 75, 75HV, 75B (I think), 75K, 75S, 75U, 75TO1, also some left hand rifles.

There, that should keep you busy for a few years!

Ok that will keep me busy for a while. I was thinking more along the lines of one example of each model but...

And I forgot the LP6GS with no sights, muzzle weight, and scope.

And the LP6G as above with Beeman shoulder stock.

I think there were around 6 variants, from memory the HV have a higher stock cheekpiece with higher sight diopter.

It looks like it takes the same add on diopter as the model 50 sight? From your photos it does look like the model 6 action with minor modifications, these aren’t too bad to work on - there is a good description of a model 6M rebuild here: http://anotherairgunblog.blogspot.com/2008/05/resurrecting-diana-model-6m-pistol-part.html?m=1

    Hello To All,

Why did Diana not follow other makers, and have a modular assembly for the trigger & 'difficult bits' etc. that just unbolts ?

e.g. Feinwerkbau 300 & Anschutz 250 - two bolts undone and the 'difficult' bits are removed en-bloc.

It would make stripping these 'Giss' rifles & pistols so much easier !

But no, Dianna had to have a welded on cage, with all the 3-D jigsaw internals held in with pins - perhaps they invented Tetris ?

(Mind you stripping the FWB65 is no fun either !!)

The Diana 'Giss' are beautiful rifles & pistols to shoot :)

    I have currently have a 75 HV, a 66, a 10 Mk1, a 6, and a 6M.

    Have fun & a good weekend :)

    Best regards

    Russ

I agree that certainly weren’t made to be easy to maintain. Given that all the Diana guns I’ve tinkered with were spot welded, I guess that was just what they were set up for at the factory.

How is the model 10 to shoot compared to the 6M?

    DrGunn,

Shooting-cycle wise, the Mod 6M shoots just as sweetly as the Mod 10, and for me, just as accurately.

Oddly, I prefer the trigger on the 6M :)

I have now got the 10's trigger adjusted just so, but it was a bit of a faff.

By comparison, the 6M's trigger dialled in quickly and sweetly :)

    Have fun & a good weekend :)

    Best regards

    Russ
