1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

I have a Diana 52 from the 80s and want to know where I can get a original spring for it, it has a titan in at the mo which needed shortening loads to keep it legal, I did buy one from chambers but that wouldn't cock after fitting it so any advice would be appreciated
    Thanks in advance
    John

You are likely to have to shorten any replacement spring you get.

I'd drop half a coil off the one you got from Chambers, dress the end and reassemble and test.

Repeat if it still won't cock.

Most off the shelf mainsprings are too long and the fact your gun wouldn't cock is likely to indicate it was coil bound with too much spring compressed to allow the internals to engage. Should be an easy fix...

If you fitted a chambers kit to include top hat, spring guide ,spring it could be that their may have been a washer in the piston resulting in not enough space between spring guide and hat to be able to get trigger to latch on rod.
As said most springs will need shortening.
Titan are an excellent choice a no 1 .
A few tuners use titan within their kits so their good.
Cutting dressing a spring isn't difficult and most tools you may have or can borrow to do it.
If you had a chambers kit IDE leave out the top hat to see if it will work without first before trimming it's length.

As a guide only,v Mach spring for a 177 rws 52/54 is aprox 215 mm in length that I have if you add a their top hat it will be an overall length of 222mm.
on my t01 model 52 s dependant on cal I use between 210 and 220 mm length titan no 1 .which then allows for either top hat or pree load washers.
please don't take these measurements as gospel I took them of old info I scribbled down for ref .
but I'm pretty sure their close.
and always remember to use a crono ,their not hard to keep low I shoot mine under 11 ft lb but can easily be ott so please take care.

my spring at a guess is 210-220 mm but you used to be able to buy springs that went straight in once upon a time, my titan is excellent but I don't like having to cut springs each time I buy a new gun

I guess like a lot of other things today if they make a generic item that can be adapted by what ever means its cheaper production coatings
I can see your point though
I'm sure custom tuners even sfs will sell a spring cut finished so you don't have too
I guess titans and such are aimed at tinkerers .

Was your chambers spring with a kit,I'm wondering why you had difficulty with it ?.

This is what gets me with Titan springs they sell springs that are stated to be the ones made for particular rifles and then we are expected to cut it down to fit? To me we would not accept this with any other item so why do we accept it with an airgun spring? Surely they are breaching trades description ?
