1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

These used to retail for £150, but it looks like Deben are discontinuing them and the price has been dropped to £120 on their website. Further to this, Ronnie Nobshines are knocking them out for a ton.

Since I smell a bargain I can think of various reasons to upgrade from my existing LED Lenser P7 for rat bashing - the two biggest ones being that the Lenser is unregulated (so progressively dims as the battery voltage drops) and the 'scope mounting system is a bit w*nk. In addition, I also use it on my bike and suspect it'll be seeing more use in this application, while the household can always use a few more torches dotted around the place for the inevitable blackouts that will no doubt precede the impending zombie apocalypse.

My reservations about the LEDRay are thus - firstly the catalogue doesn't categorically state that the torch is regulated (but the website does) - I'm not interested if it's not capable of maintaining the same light output throughout. Secondly, I'm used to the LED Lenser's ability to focus the light - a feature the LEDRay doesn't have.

That aside it looks pretty spanky - for your money you get the torch, 25 and 30mm 'scope mounts, remote dimmer switch, three batteries (2x non-rechargeable CR123A and 1x rechargeable 18650), battery charger, pouch, lanyard and filters - all housed inside a dainty "tactical" :)rolleyes:) case.

So, I'd be very interested to hear from anyone with experience of the same model please :)

Looking at the Deben site, I've just realised that this drop in price apparently also extends to the 800 and 1000 series lights too. Hmmm... :p

If you do some searching and youtube videos you will find something better and cheaper.im looking for a new torch and I'm currently looking at either the fenix tk22 which is 680 lumens or the newer 2014 model which is 920 lumens.both these torches have three or four settings so you can choose one of the lower ones for ratting.if you buy from flashaholics put in cpf code and get discount

I have the torch in question mate, the light regulation is the battery not the torch, they have a chip in them thats cuts light when running low instaead of slowly dimming.. the most annoying feature is the unability to focus. advantages are how many accesories you get in a neat hard case! Lights up nicely to 50yards easily take bunnies with it at that range, its small and compact as well with a CREE LED... BUT I got it cheap as I know deben :) to be honest I believe you could get close to the quality for a lot less without noticeable difference.. just being honest
