1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Ordered from China for ~£18 and it arrived after 4 week wait. No problem with that; expected it to take ages and it did.

Plugged her in to USB and got an hour or two's charge in. All lights up and looking good. Took it downstairs for a quick and dirty test with my HW 45. First shot was an error message, second was 105m/s, third go and I shot off the far sensor......Oh dear...

Well perhaps quick and dirty testing of sensitive measuring equipment with a gun is not such a good idea.....Dyer think!?

    Perhaps use a bench
    next time
rather than balancing it on the threshold of my patio doors in dwindling light.

So, the moral of the story is be careful, there are people out there with guns that perhaps need to have a word with themselves.

You can't call yourself a proper airgun shooter until you've shot a chrono.

I shoot my F1 chrony all the time, if I'm doing well three or four times a session. I keep clipping the very top of the rear sensor housing and metal lip.

I've ordered a Chinese one, it will be getting fitted to the barrel before I fire a shot as I'm bound to blow it to bits.
A few have shot the rear LEDs off the Chinese ones.

Lol! Unlucky mate. I ordered my Chinese chrono after seeing the rave reviews on here. I didn't really fully understand what a chrono was. It arrived. I followed the instructions. Cocked my springer. Put it on the end of the barrel. Snapped the barrel back up. It fell off....hit the deck and fell apart! Lol! The battery was swinging in mid air, held on by a couple of wires. Cut and fashioned the circular foam from a tin of pellets into an oblong that fitted between the lid and the battery and circuit board. Couple of dobs of superglue. Jobs a goodn. Not only does it work perfectly for my needs, it also doesn't rattle like a pea in a matchbox any more. The only time it shows error is in direct sunlight. But I've found with mine, that if I leave it on the barrel and dip it into the shade for a millisecond and raise it back up into the sun it cures it no problem. To be fair.....it is a bit dainty and flimsy, but if I can't break one, no one can. My wife won't accept my offer of help to change a light bulb for her cos she knows she'll end up having to hoover the broken glass up.

I agree. killing your first chrono is a right of passage.

The next initiation right is the repair and RichieRich has very generously offered a replacement LED so I will give an update once I have it fixed (fingers crossed).

If there isn't already a chrono repair thread this could be my chance...

Designer of F1 should be congratulated for recessing sensor 12 mm below frame. When looking down barrel from above to line up with sensors, too easy to neglect dip of barrel. Hopefully lesson learnt and not forgotten.
Unlike the designer of a widely promoted vacuum cleaner, whose products are designed to fail at first hint of misuse.

Over on the BeeBeeEss someone put 'Chrono Slayer' under my name after I shot and killed my Chrony F1 within 24 hours of buying it, I then bought a Combro, Set it up for an Airsporter, Centralised it to the bore then forgot to tighten the thumbscrew!!

I sent it down the garden!!

I posted it off to Robin Heweitt with my cheque for £7 and it came back brilliant but when I came to use it a second time some months later I got an error that said the battery contacts needed cleaning, No amount of scrubbing with wire wool would make it work, The cells were all good too!

Later on I bought a Cardew 'Pellet Spy', As it's a bit of airgunning history and with my track record, I won't put a gun near it!! ;)
