1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

    Hi Forum,

Can an you help once more please?

Got the chance of owning the above, not sure of the exact date of manufacture & not sure if you can still get a silencer & a 10 shot magazine!

There are not many used examples out there so the X2 must be good, any recommendations/sources of these parts?

    Thanks in advance.

Don't know much about them, but my friend has one. It was varying wildly in power and needed a complete rebuild by a gunsmith (as in re-making, really) to settle it down. The newer DS mags will fit it, and you can fit a 1/2" UNF adaptor to it to accept a moderator.

..and the winner of the most potentially-expensive, wild assumption goes to.. :p

They're not the worst gun in the world, but they're pretty crude by modern standards. The strikers are similarly massive to a London bus so lock time is slow and there's a reasonable amount of disturbance on firing. The guns like low fill pressures (around 150-160bar typically) so have a fairly pronounced energy curve and don't offer a huge amount of shots. Triggers are the standard Daystate "psuedo 2-stage" units; so feel OK but run b****r all sear engagement for a crisp release; which ain't too hot.

I think the X2s had shrouds, so there's potentially all the fun and games to be had with regard to pellet clipping etc that can be a problem on later models; plus the mags are the same units as used currently (in an older, interchangeable form) so are liable to give problems. Also, as we've all come to expect from Daystate now; QC can be variable.

They pop up regularly on the used market at wildly varying asking prices; personally I wouldn't value a good one at more than £300 gun only - much more and you could have an Air Arms S410 instead; which is a far better gun IMO.

Thanks for that, yes this one has been rebalanced & serviced by Dave Brayford at Staffs Custom Rifles, dropping to 50 shots at 9fs spread. Just wasn't sure what accessories would fit it.

I have an X2R, as in the regulated version.
I like mine a lot as it fits me very well.

9fps over 50 shots is pretty decent imho? Mine will do 70 shots with a flat spread before dropping off the reg, so I don't think that's bad?

Mine has a Wiehrauch silencer and is very quiet.

The new mags fit and work well enough, I have a couple that are tightish, but okay.

In .177 mine is as accurate as I am... which is the bit that varies! In the mood and relaxed it's one-hole all day at 35/40 yards.

I tried a LOT of pellets! In the end the H&N FTTs were clearly ahead of anything else...... in my gun anyway.

I've got an X2 but in .22, originally unreg'd but had one added by Airmasters. The end of the shroud is threaded so takes a normal 1/2 in mod. I had my HW mod turned down at the end so it sat flush with the end of the shroud, then picked up an airstream non reflex silencer and it's the right size anyway. Never had any shroud clipping issues, it's not the same design as the later guns. Mines also a prestige so in a nice thumbhole stock, but lacks a pressure gauge. Pre reg I was getting 65 useable shots, now about 125. Oh, and the later, lower mags fit as well.
