1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I have used both of them, buying over a dozen rifles from them, I did have an incidence where I sold on an edgun r5 as I didn`t gel with it, the buyer had a problem with the cocking latch - a piece broke off and he contacted Ari at dase who arranged a collection of the faulty rifle and a replacement gun sent out. Only issue with Balistas was having a taipan seized at customs, but David at Balistas provided all the documentation that the border control asked for so that my gun was eventually released, that was a few years ago now and have bought 5 or 6 guns since with no issues. I would also recommend krale, airgunheaven. and mundilar, great deals and service from them all.

Good to know thanks. Tempted to order an EDgun from Balistas as it doesn't sounds like there's much advantage to sourcing one from a UK supplier and I'll save myself a hundred quid or so and a trip to the RFD which is always difficult to make time for.

Don't forget to factor in that an Edgun from Ballistas will be fitted with a factory reg.
In the Leshiy at least at 12ftlbs, the factory reg is not set very well for uk sub12. Set high and poor air efficiency.
You may have to factor a Huma reg kit in your budget.

Thanks. Not after a Leshiy though :)

The Lelya comes with the same reg for UK guns even from BAR.

I'd be careful of the factory reg setup then.

Lloyd informed me that when they started bringing the Leshiy in, every single one spiked badly as soon as they dropped "off reg". That's the reason they supply them with the Huma 12ftlb reg kit.

It may well be difefrent with the Lelya

Huma do offer a reg for the Lelya but no 12ftlb kit as far as I can see, so even if you did go Huma, you're still working on the factory hammer and valve springs.

I’ve had a chat to BAR and Airfective, neither change the reg. with the difference in price though I’m quite happy for it to go for a little visit to Airfective if needed for a tweak. It’s cheaper than you can get them second hand in the UK.

Ok so I've used ballistas twice, can't fault them for the hw100s but my leshiy, which was bought as a sub 12 turned up at 32fpe!
If I could choose I would buy one from BAR

Well that’s a bit worrying! Was that recently?

On the Lelya it is pretty simple to wind it back down though.

That maybe true, but your balance will be out and therefore not at its most efficient - just depends how far its "out"

True, it should come set to sub 12, I’ve called and double checked too.

I would hope that if it’s not correctly set and it’s picked up by customs that’s the retailer’s problem not mine. Will pay by credit card too just in case....

The paperwork will all have to state sub 12, and for once no one can argue it was me that changed the power at that point in time!

I think you’ll find the onus is on you to check your own laws , much like it seems buying from an RFD right here in the U.K. ;)

Edit : yes , I’d get the retailer to include as much info as possible should it be stopped and checked .

How can I check it before I get it though? Sure once it lands I agree, but if customs pick it up and check it, I’ve yet to even touch the gun.

You can’t , but I would almost guarantee that the retailers terms and conditions state that they cannot be held responsible for any import problems , and to check your own laws before purchase , it sounds like @badgerginger had a very good result and the retailer did his upmost but ultimately it is your responsibility and it will fall on you to sort out .

I’m not trying to scaremonger here , just trying to make you aware that if it’s stopped , if it’s hot , you will have just as many questions to answer as the retailer who tbh , in a foreign country can just absolve himself should he wish .

I don't see how. Defintely going to check the law on this one....if its in the post and hasn't reached the destination, how can the receiver be liable? I won't say its barmy as some of our laws are just as barmy :D
