1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Has anyone heard of Crossman Discovery, new PCP from US?
priced at $400 with pump, or $250 alone...

There's a load of scuttlebutt about it with only a few proto's out in airgun writer's hands. That's slowly changing with a few production units hitting the public.

with exchange rates of 2 to 1 in favor of British pound. that makes an already good deal 1/2 price. Less shipping costs and customs of course.

thinking of ordering .177 version.... but are waiting until feedback comes in from non proto owners.

Despite how many people feel, I really don't think this gun will be any good. We'll see.

What's your reasoning for that? for the price it seems just right. The pump is also a good quality pump that can go to 3000 psi. Of course, it's not going to be as good as an S410, but it's not supposed to be. It's to give beginner airgunners a choice other than a springer or pump.

Ummm ... well it's a Crosman, made by Crosman = poor quality, cut every corner. For example, take the Ratcatcher - made in 2 halves that don't fit together - one's about 5mm wider than the other, and the one I had came with a bent barrel and stock. It looked a bit like it'd melted or something.

Something tells me this rifle isn't going to be fantastic, but like I said, I could be wrong.

well, over here, they're definitely not the best, but not any worse than say, any other chinese-manufactured airgun. Their 2240 and 2260 are extremely modable and tuneable, so I imagine this will be too. It's based off the 2260, I believe.

Yeah and you're talking about an American company - there are no excuses for such bad quality.

I've always found Crosman to be quite good value for money, they don't cost the earth to start with so you shouldn't be expecting top notch quality. They just do what they're designed to do and that is to introduce youngsters to shooting.

    Hi all!
I was up at my "local dealer"(only 140 miles away!) yesterday and talked to him about this rifle. If he can get them in 10joules they will be selling for around 3000 Kroner, (about £250). the thing that concerns him about them, is that NO ONE out side the company has shot them!. All the PR is from crossman themselves!. He was told that they "aim for the customer that want a pcp, but think they are to expensive. That's why we've cut production cost's to reach this customer".
As far as i can know, when you cut production cost's, you allways cut quality as well.
Your basicly getting a C02 rifle that can use air as well.
Brocock make a cartrage that can be pumped up and used instead of a 12gr cartridge, but why has'nt that taken off?
    LOW POWER!!!!.
    Buy a 2060 for £100 and £150's worth of CO2 cartridge's instead!

The review I read was by Tom Gaylord, and I don't think he works for Crosman, although he was influential to its design.

Well, I'm still 100% happy with my (Crosman) Remington Genesis 1000 springer. It's my 'old reliable' when my pcp breaks down.

EDIT: Am I the only one who finds this name a little funny deep inside?

I've never read his reviews, sorry. I'll go and sit back in the corner now.

His reviews seem pretty unbiased to me... but you're entitled to your opinion as much as I am, so I'll leave it at that.

just found this on a swedish forum:

    http://www.crosman.com/site/catalog/crosman/rifle/pcp

OK, i grudgingly agree it looks a good deal, But so did the evanix AR& hunting master. 110 joules for under £600!.Now my mate has seen exactly where they saved money and returned it for a refund.
Rotery magazines cracking under pressure, Auto feed giving up the ghost. Double action.....Ok if it's running at 7ftlb's.

    You pays your money.........
