1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

Your not kidding. I hate flying, but given the chance even I would sit in the back of that, for a view like such. KB1

I'm so happy I got to see these 2 survivers fly over me! They say its probably the last flight they will have given their age and conditions :( so I feel quite lucky to say that I have seen a Lancaster bomber fly over me in my life time :D

I first heard them flying over me but couldn't spot them... And I wasn't familiar to their engine sound but the loudness was quite scary! I can't help but to imagine the fear these beauties struck into the enemy when the loaud engine noise cut through the skies not to mention when they had a full squadron on a bombing mission!

in a distant galaxy, far far away ....... actually
now thats impressive. as an engineer, i have had the honour to work on one of our best pieces of flying metal - the typhoon. as such, i attended a few flying shows and saw many planes. the sight of a squadron of typhoons flying over was awesome, but nothing compared to the sight of a lancaster bomber being led by a hurricane fighter, and flanked by a spitfire fighter on each side. the sound of the rolls royce merlin engine was unbelievable, a sound and feel, that you will never forget

Was at North Cotes when the two Lancasters came flying low over the airfield, all the lads stopped shooting to go out and see the two legends fly just over our heads, amazing sight, the noise from the Merlin engines was just awesome.

In the summer I was up my unit and a spitfire, hurricane and a Lancaster flew over the farm building. They were so low my daughter and I waved at them as we could see the pilots.

The noise was awesome and being only 42 makes me wonder what it must have been like to see 50 or more in the sky when we wre at war. Kids must have been in or of the sight especially if living near an air field.

what makes a good picture into great picture is sometimes more about what you leave out! shame the duel carriageway/motorway is right through the centre of the pic...

I was driving through the Welsh valleys once and heard an amazing noise from above. I pulled over and watched a Lancaster cruising over. Better than any air show I've been too.

Great pictures. My wife was in our paddock at the beginning of the summer and our Lanc from the memorial flight was coming straight across through the valley. She waved so frantically at the passing sight of such a lovely bird, and the crew, bless them, waggled the wings for my Shirley. It brought a tear to my lovely wife's eye's.

She talks about that moment so often, and probably will for ever more.

They flew over practically treetop level where I'm at a few weeks ago, the noise of those Merlins.. Phwoar!
I'd still like to buy a 109 when I win Euromillions though.. Just to make them jump a little.
