1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. No longer allowed Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- We now do not allow political and religion threads anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section) unless Airgun related and they must be put in the Airgun related politics section..

Staff will not move posts for you if you put it in the wrong section – it will simply be deleted. You will then have to type it all out again and put it in the right place, so heed this warning.

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Last time I was out shooting rabbits I shot and missed two rabbits after shooting two with no problem, so I went to the range today to re-zero my gun and it was spot on so I put in a magazine and the first two shots were great then the 3rd. and 4th. were 1.5 inches out and the rest of the shots were not spot on. I tried my 2nd magazine and that was equally as bad. I know people say magazines are not as accurate, but I have always had no problem with accuracy with the magazines until now, when I am at the range I always put at least one magazine's worth through the gun and never see a problem. I am out tomorrow evening on the rabbits, but I have decided to use a single shot loader just to be sure. Is there anything I can look for with the mags to either clean them or bring the accuracy back?

    Regards
    Peter

If you look at the holes (between the outer casing and the centre bit that rotates) in the magazine you will probably see that they don't line up properly which will cause the pellets to be damaged as you load, also you might see a lot of small lead shavings in the breach area when the mag is out - again it's the pellets being damaged by the misaligned mag when you load.
I can't help with a solution because when I was fed up with the cowpatto I owned doing it and brocock saying that it was OK I sold it

One of the mags has a bigger discrepancy than the other and I use one mag more than the other so it could be wear that has made it inaccurate, but that is pretty poor if it has worn so quickly especially at the price of them. I have cleaned them and blown them with air and they are at least now clean, so I will try them again for accuracy, but not on the rabbits I will stick to single shot until I am certain they are accurate again.

    Regards
    Peter

Mags in my bantam were crap too. Ended up buying a Rowan single shot loader. Ps -dont tighten up the securing screw, it will start marking the gun after some use. Rowan loaders and not cheap but at least the gun could shoot consistently accurate

If you are on the FB look this guy up. He makes excellent mags with glowing reviews regarding improvements in accuracy. I have one of his for my P15 and it’s spot on.

The Brocock 3D printed single shot loader and two others I have are great, no securing screws needed.

I took the magazines apart, scary moments and fettled them. They look promising so far, I shot 10 from each magazine at 20yards and this is the result. I want to shoot at 27yards as I did at the range yesterday when they were upto 1.5 inches adrift, just to make sure they are okay.

Brocock will replace faulty mags FOC. I know the early ones had issues, but there are some still in circulation that need swapping

If Brocock are as good at replacing magazines as they are at answering emails then I am glad I have sorted them myself, fingers crossed.
