1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Happened to catch this tonight 8.00pm.
I thought a debate was arguing both sides of a question.
Turned out to be a p1ssing contest about who could spend more of our tax and persuade us to fall for it.
    "CO2 pollution" ffs.
Retro-fitting insulation! Try that with a solid stone walled cottage.
2 million trees. Where and by who and where do you source the saplings.
Utter BS and twenty minutes (before I switched over to CBBs for something intelligent) I'll never get back.
    Utter BS from utter numpties.

Yup, climate debate, more like let's make billions of pounds/dollars out of it and dress it up as caring.

Granted some folks are in it as they are genuinely concerned but when we are told to have to cut back on this or that as its affecting our planet, yet you have continents like Asia and Africa whose production and profit far outweigh their concern for the environment pretty much makes everyone's effort a waste of time.

WE here in our little country, will have b****r all effect on the world, we are nobody anymore, even if out politicians like to think so. Its an grandstanding. Climate has always changed, agreed the humans may have made it worse, but its a world problem not solely a British one

Its to late. The Rain Forest is being destroyed and we do nothing about it. But THE WORLD needs the Rain Forest. If anything was worth an International Force moving in and stopping it this does. Its not going to affect me. Or even us. We are all far to selfish to do what really needs to be done and perhaps even now we are to late anyway.

I've just been reading that the internet currently consumes around 10% of the worlds electricity & is projected to rise to 20% by 2025. That will be all of the worlds renewable energy being used by IT.

Maybe the internet should be rationed ? Or maybe we should only let some people have children ?
Having children is the major cause of pollution, all parents should be taxed to the hilt.
All your offspring are future polluters. Stop breeding please !

A bit of a generalisation, China is trying to tackle the issue, but as the Worlds manufacturer it's quite difficult, even in Ulaan bataar, the Capital of Mongolia, coal burning has been banned.
It is a bigger issue for the West as we have more to lose on one hand with us having the money to use planes and cars and keep our homes warm, and more to gain, by making money on more fuel efficient and green initiatives.

You're spot on, it is simply maths, more people equals more usage of everything, whether there are 10 people or 10 billion, they all have to eat and keep warm....the future ain't bright, yes couples around the world should receive benefits for only having one child, and our foreign aid budget should only go to countries that making an effort to cut population growth by methods other than sending them to the west.

Climate change is all promulgated on the "problem" of Co2 and there is scant evidence of this being a concern to real scientists. That is, those who aren't being given grants to promote this ill-conceived "cause".
Climate change is always happening and money should be spent to mitigate the outcomes but it will be wasted if it is used to "prevent" it and therefore limiting our ability to be competitive on the world stage. The dire warning from the past have yet to come to fruition so we must be sceptical of their predictions.
Please all look into it as most alternative views aren't available on the popular "meeja". We are going to be screwed, big time, if the reality isn't aired.
No wonder our poor kids are suffering from increased anxiety.
Again, the concerns should be plastic pollution, ocean degradation, soil depletion and air pollution all compounded by over population but not in that immediate order.

It will be soon enough to worry about climate change when we stop worrying about the ozone layer ......... they've gone quiet on that one, just like the ice-age that was forecast in the '70s. Global warming failed to happen, so rebranded to climate change, which covers all eventualities.
Typical news item - "highest flood in last 50 years, caused by climate change" ................ ie it was worse 51 years ago, so not 'change' more 'cyclic'.
Other scientists are predicting a cooling period, caused by the sun's cycle - should give us tax breaks for keeping the planet warm, higher the greenhouse gasses we produce the less tax we pay ............. no chance, no profit in that one.
Plants grow by absorbing CO2, animals grow by eating the plants, carnivores (most of us) grow by eating the animals ........... and with a growing population, they want to reduce the CO2 and therefore reduce crop harvests
Certainly, we should be concerned (and act) on our effect on the environment (plastic allowed to be dumped in the sea, rubbish strewn streets etc). Not because of some snowflake who is worried about some pictures seen on tv (probably set up, always seem to find a bottle bobbing in the sea when they focus their camera). Act because to do otherwise, is filthy ............ keep our own house in order and the rest can look after themselves.
It's a joke that we recycle, only for the plastic to be sent abroad and then dumped - Who thought that one up, whilst threatening fines if we don't recycle. Nice little earner for someone

Not disputing it but out of interest where did you read that?
Clearly the IPCC, NASA and the vast majority of the planets credible climate scientists know nothing and their only interest is to profit from their master plan.
Still not to worry. Most of the dinosaurs on here will be able to die happily in their beds knowing they were right because it hasn’t affected sunny England in their lifetime.
And we can all leave a little note for our grandchildren saying, ‘well Nigel Lawson said it was all a lot of bo11ocks and it would all be alright’.
