1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  6. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

With bright stars, a shining moon and frost on the ground I certainly did go out again :)

I was in the woods and settled by 7:15, listening to the owl screech above me somewhere and wondering if the squirrels or pheasants would arrive first, hardly a breath of wind and just the noise of distant traffic and leaves as they tumbled to the floor.

The first to arrive was a robin a mouse, then a woodpecker and a few other small tits flitting around, when out of nowhere and along the ground came a squirrel, I was sure they'd come from above!
It was straight up onto the feeder, took a bite to eat then shot off up the trunk as another squirrel came up! I followed the one up, it stopped Pfft Whack 1 down with the other taking flight.

Probably only ten minutes later and I spotted another off to the right, stood up meerkat style, it didn't look like it was going to commit to coming further in so Whack and down she went.

Nothing else showed so I headed up the hill happy with two big females.

I went up and stopped trying to identify the birds eating the Holly berries, I was leaning on an oak and just as I was about to move off when a flicker of a tail caught my eye, I waited and watched and up popped a young male, Whack flop.
    Screenshot_20211125-182115_Gallery.jpg
Pretty steady rest :D the squirrel was dead central.
    Screenshot_20211125-182106_Gallery.jpg

I mooched around some, only seeing two more squirrels up here, both a good way off so looped around and headed back on myself, spotted another on my way down, managed to get in position for a shot but hit a twig:facepalm: flick of the tail and away it went:facepalm::facepalm: no chance would I hit that unseen twig if I'd been aiming for ito_O

I went down and across trying to find a clearing I'd seen a few weeks back, found it and thought yes this patch is getting a feeder, several dreys around and a couple of squirrels up in a Yew, I tried getting a clear view but they were in the thick of it, I got the feeling I was being watched and sure enough I looked left to see a big dog fox stood watching me:cool: cool as you like he just turned and walked off.

I moved position but the squirrels just vanished probably into one of the dreys.
I then has a good look around, eyeing up different trees for feeders and shooting positions, working out where to be with the sun etc..
As I stood up to leave I did a 360° and spotted a squirrel shaped lump on an oak bough watching me watching, I didn't open the sticks up I just used it like a mono, on target Pfft and it just toppled bouncing off the branch under it.

So a new spot to shoot, four in the bag but I'm going to start carrying a compass in here, I somehow ended up, up the hill again instead of going across and down :facepalm: but I got out eventually :D:D

It's all pretty similar and craggy in places, so you get turned around easily, especially when your following squirrels and before you know it your not where you thought you were :D:D
    Cheers lads:p

Doesn't it just, I was looking at getting a Saturday session in and my daughter was coming along, but not with the wind that's forecast, we'll wait for better weather.

"With bright stars, a shining moon and frost on the ground I certainly did go out again"

Absolutely a very good decision and nice hunting read for me as well. The fact that you could get 'turned around' is very cool and it must be a very nice woodlands area. Something VERY adventurous about losing one's bearing :)

    Hi Mice,

Thank you buddy, I do post when I can, early morning is usually my best time of the day but that’s not guaranteed, I get more bad days than good days unfortunately. I will do my best Sir.

    Best regards.
