1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Collected my HW97KT on Friday after it had been away for a tune (without it for 12 weeks) been using it today gone through nearly a tin of pellets and not impressed, groupings are rubbish, so shot two strings of ten over the combro when I got home, opinions on the results please.

the falcons were recommended by the guy that tuned the gun. I get a better string from my untouched pro sport than this.
Question is I have not been shooting long enough to know if these figures are acceptable or not, so please give me your opinions.

Seen better, seen worse. What was the accuracy like before you sent it away?
What exactly has been done? Is it just a case of a bit of grease and a spring guide or is it someone who really knows what they're doing?

A tuner what knows his stuff should have had everything needed to hand right size tp the a polsh debur on a lathe 12 weeks sounds extreme hope u didn't pay by the hour

Barrel was cleaned, I had a SFS stage 2 tune, was quoted 8-10 weeks due to work load, but in fairness they had a lathe break down. Prior to the tune gun was very twangy and very lively at the muzzle, still a bit harsh firing cycle but manageable, accuracy and consistency is what I am looking for. I get far better groups from my pro sport which has had nothing done to it.

But a pro sport is made to high specs so as to not need a tune that's why u pay a high price for a pro sport a Sfs tune is just debur and a lot of Grease pro sports are made to the highest quality possible in the factory

Your Sfs tunned gun is also going to need a bedding in period the concitency isn't the accuracy problem the variation isn't going to affect accuracy try your hold techniques ect as the firing cycle is going to of changed so maybe your hold needs to change

If the grouping is good, I wouldn't worry about the fps,

it could be down to pellet weight variations.

Interesting that a genuine customer reports that his tuned HW 97KT isn't as good as his standard Prosport?
Hope you get it sorted Ken, it must be a bit gutting to have waited that long and be disappointed.

fps variation of about 15, in a springer, is fine. People these days obsess about this stuff (aka regulators in PCPs). Truth is airguns could probably vary up to 20-25fps before it became noticeable in groupings. like the chaps say above, run it in a bit and then experiment with pellets. SFS are respectable.

Thanks for the reply, I am certainly not having a pop at SFS, just that everyone seems to think that a tuned HW97 is a better gun than the pro sport, so iwas expecting great things, I chose to use SFS as I have only heard good things about them, I have no issue with them at all, maybe lesson learnt that what one person thinks is best isn't always going to be the same as your own opinion.

I had issues using a Combro with a TX200, they're fine with a PCP but move about with a springer. I now use a Prochrono and the FPS spread is much tighter, you can see the difference shooting a ten shot string on both.

I thoroughly recommend the Combro, they're great little bits of kit and the after sales is second to none, but I prefer the Prochrono for sprinters.

Just a quick update in case anyone finds this thread in the future via the search. Two tins of pellets later and after finding the pellet that suits the barrel, the rifle has settled down nicely, very little recoil (can stand a pellet on top scope turret, fire the gun and pellet is still there) also very accurate as long as I do my bit. All in all very happy and hats off to SFS on a nice job.

It's not if the pellets there it's how much it moves
