1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Mike after assessing the damage to the property it’s a insurance claim. Someone broke into one of my houses and nicked the hot water tank along with the gas boiler. The w*****s left the water running full blast so now I have no ceilings in two rooms downstairs the wooden floor is well knackered and the plaster is started to come off the walls where the water was. So I’m now going to leave it to the insurance company to sort out and I can get back to my normal work again. It’s just disappointing because it’s close to £25k worth of damage so if you know of a good plaster let me know.

It’s even worse because I haven’t had the place long. once it’s done it will give me the edge on what I’m doing. At the moment I’m limited to what machinery I can get into the workshop but the other property will allow me to get more machinery and cnc machines too. There is only two of us who work there so we are always working hand to mouth we never have a good stock of any parts other than cylinders. Regulators in particular are a component that takes far to long to produce even on our old auto machinery hoping cnc will change this our blacking tanks are also sometimes too big not worth turning them on to do just one item so again I want to have some smaller tanks as well as the large tanks 75 litres of blacking salts takes a fair amount of time to get to 130c

Peter even the best companies some times have difficulties when this happens to a company that only has two people working there it’s a knock on effect your trying to get the customers jobs done as quick as possible but I have a very high standard of work. If it’s not right I wouldn’t just send it out. Probably comes from my back ground of working for Rolls Royce. The hardest part is maintaining stock levels if we have a onrush of say ultras it will take all our current stock out. Then we have R10s in so no time to replenish the ultra stock when we eventually get time to replenish the stocks it can easy take 1 month to do all components. I personally do NOT like how some rifles take so long. But it also does not help when rifles are sent to me with no details not even a contact number or address I currently have two rifles at my place one has been there at least 3 years the other easy 5 years so far nobody has contacted me to even ask about them.

You had my barrel for 6 months. It was a simple job, heat up breech, remove barrel and fit the new barrel you assured me you had in stock. Hardly time consuming & in your words an easy enough job but throughout that six months you had my address details, phone number, email and texts to reply to.

The Xmas break to your wife's family was fine & I said I was happy with that delay. What annoyed me was the lack of responses to valid concerns after the date you assured you were returning to the UK.
I had to repeatedly contact you well after that date until I eventually got a reply with more excuses & promises of "it'll be done this month".

It got to the point at the end where you would not answer until I mentioned the police because I could not even get a reply about getting my property back.

Now i don't know if any of your myriad of reasons/excuses are true or not but that is not the problem. Your lack of respect for customers & their concerns is the problem.
You run a business where you provide a service to paying customers. Businesses usually work to trading standards.

Would you accept your level of customer service if you were having a new kitchen fitted or having your car fixed?
Would you be happy not having your car for 6 months & the garage disrespecting you by not acknowledging your enquiries as to where the hell your property is & are they actually going to do the work?

I got my barrel back from you with no apology for the extreme delay, nothing, not even an acknowledgement note.
That's your problem mate, the disrespect of customers who have legitimate concerns & complaints.
I was lucky, it was only a £75 barrel but your doing this stuff regularly with expensive guns and it's an unacceptable way to run any business.

You should have apologised for the delay, done the work & offered a discount for the delay but the main thing is stop disrespecting the people who you expect to provide you with a living.

I bet you feel how a colleague of mine did when he slagged another work mate off for being utter 5hite at her work privately to me on WhatsApp one day but he hadn’t messaged me it went out on our WhatsApp group and the person he was slagging off as well as the other 100 people on the group received the message!

That proved a bit embarrassing even though he was talking the truth.

Mistakes happen mate at least you’ve done everything in your power to redeem yourself.

Many find if difficult to put their hands up and say sorry when they FU, you had the decency to do that and I'd be surprised if anyone held it against you except for people who can't hold their hands up when they FU!

    No names mentioned. ;)

With over 7000+ posts and a number of followers, you can’t expect to get it right every time .

It takes a strong and thoughtful man to admit he is wrong. It’s just an unfortunate mistake.

If we were all perfect..... it would be a sad world.!!

Let’s hope Carl sees it this way.
