1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

While browsing the web this morning I came across the bullpup for sale all the bells ect, a few month old retail £1400 sale price £900.

Id forgot all the excitement from the beginning of the summer "new kids on the block", we all wanted one ect....

What happened, where are they or was it just a fad that's passed.

I would love a 'cricket' in my cabinet, but you try finding a uk supplier for any of the brands. Its impossible. I think that's the main reason behind the slow take off. KB1

I disagree, there is a market out there. Its just that the price of the export versions is just so high, and then you have so little come back should anything go wrong. KB1

I see what you're saying KB, but the others have a point too - if you ever needed to sell the pool of potential buyers would be very small, as not everyone likes bullpups. This could mean that some people don't buy for fear of being 'stuck' with what many deem to be an unnatractive rifle.

I picked a ' Evanix Rainman' or something? up in the RFD. Managed to break the trigger linkage by...pulling the trigger. Nobody could easily fix it. Again held in the shoulder it was virtually impossible to cock as the lever is so far back. Finally, who wants to look a plonker carrying that about the permission.

I see evanix rainstorm/sniper, fx royal and plenty of budget break barrels with funny stocks every time I go in the shop so what you are saying isn't quite true
I'd rather have a cricket over any of those ugly sticks

Evanix rainstorm/sniper, fx royals are not bull pups, so what i am saying is true.

I take your point out in the permission. You are going to look a twonk. But I do like the lines of the cricket. Perhaps it would be just one of those rifles that you take out, and admire the shape of. You know, bit like all these jazzed up 2250's that you see on here. Look great, but cough like a fart when it comes to cutting the mustard. IMO. KB1

Like everything else in airgunning bullpups are subject to fads; causing interest to wax and wain accordingly.

While the format offers some advantages (namely compactness) these come with a host of disadvantages (poor ergonomics, balance and aesthetics). On account of their looks I think they'll always be a niche product compared to more traditional offerings..

I'm with you on that one. Not many people want to take a nice decent gun, and turn it into a piece of ugly looking junk, then make it even worse, by covering it in a . awfull camo job.

Actually bullpups often have better balance and ergonomics. Take my Blizzard as an example, 130 cm long gun with silencer and awfully front heavy making it hard to shoot from standing position. In bullpupped form its a tad under one meter and balances perfectly right at the trigger guard making it a pleasure to shoot while standing. Looks are then another matter, depends on what you like.

If it's your gun, and you like it, then that is all that matters. Atb. Bob.

The rainstorm is a bullpup though the others aren't.
What I was tying to say was gunshops do sell ugly guns and that's why I said your statement isn't quite true :)

Personally I don't care how good gun it is if I don't like the look of it.
Nothing worse than having that niggle in the back of your mind every time you lock it away
