1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

I was going to get a scorpion but most people i spoke to told me to go towards the air arms, total quality, probably more shots and dosent have that horrible free floating barrel
I got the air arms and never looked back!

No doubt at all the AA is the better gun. The BSA wins on one point only - finish. In all other respects the AA is better. The HW100 is also a superb gun. You won't go wrong with either.

would have to agree with matt slightly, airarms build quality is very good,

i have a bsa t10 great little gun synthetic stock and doesnt feel hollow at all, free floating match standard barrel, very nice.

mate also have a hw 100k which is also very nice !! ;)

best bet is to go to your local shop and hold and feel all the guns you are thinking of, and go for the one fits you best ;)

AA mate, had an S410 classic and it was lovely, only got rid of it to get a .177 so my dad could do HFT with me without moaning hes the only one using a .22 lol. also have a look at the S400 and S400 MPR FT, i have an MPR in .177 and it is as accurate as anything and looks amazing! I do love the HW100, was actually going to buy one myself but bought a daystate air ranger instead. Personally i prefer the MPR out of all of them, but if you dont want to consider the MPR or S400, get the S410 over keeping the bsa. Between S410 and HW100 is very hard decision, but if you considered the MPR, then that would settle it in my opinion lol.

The Scoprions floating barrel is a plus for me as the barrel band is the weakest point on the S400. The S4*0 barrel is just a little too flimsy for my liking as is the barrel band that supports it. Shame they didnt give it a more solid barrel in the first place.

Have to agree, although the best value for money is the S400 even with its flimsy barrel.

They are quite. I have a had a bad experience with them though and lost a lot of money on one. I still bought another and it seems fine but I dont trust it, hopefully time will reassure me but in the mean time I am nervous how I transport it, store it etc in an almost OCD way...nothing can touch it otherwise it will all go wrong again.

My s410 was not right when I bought it, but a good service, a new stock and a regulator has transformed it, very easy rifles to work on as well, so quite a practical proposition.

How does servicing a new rifle help? Wouldnt it be replacing new parts with identical new parts?

Not necessarily, if the identical new part in the rifle is not working properly (ie the regulator) and the new one is working properly then it will help a hell of a lot!

I had a Scorpion and it was a great bit of kit and i liked it but i also know how popular the 400 series is and people rave about them. I have never owned one but i have used one and it was spot on
